norslyman: In as much as the "theory" of evolution teaches the survival of the fittest, wouldn't it follow that the North and South American Indians were standing in the way of the progress of mankind, and therefore deserved to be wiped out. Even their immune systems were not able to fight a simple disease as smallpox. They were not genetically advanced enough to handle white mans alcohol - how backwards can you get! Their simplistic ideas like "respecting mother earth" would never have fueled the Indutrial Revolution.
This is an obvious case of Evolution in action is it not? The religion of Evolution has no moral codes, so why should anybody care what happens to a backwards culture standing in the way of progress? You can't believe in evolution AND have morals. The two are mutually exclusive.

Yeah survival of the fittest naturally...NOT getting annihilated by guns and disease brought in by another culture....and not by genocide either....by the way...your idea of progress is not natural either..evolution of mankind is...it means the natural evolving...not by unnatural means...
So the two don't belong together anymore than the holocust was an occurrence of evolution....

The theory of evolution is more a study of natural selection than it is of survival of the fittest. IOW, merely being fit doesn't guarantee your bloodline will survive instead of another who may have a quicker reaction time and can escape danger while you get eaten by some predator. An example of this is the sabre tooth cat. It was very big and very strong but died out because it was also very slow and lacked stamina at a time when the terrain was changing from dense forest to savanah and the sabretooth was no longer able to ambush prey from cover because there was very little cover left.

I have a hard time believing this mantality still exists against the Natives. The bloodlines have almost been breed out by you so called Americans. The Natives have the soul and the spirit that is lacking in todays society.

I'm obviously being facetious with this thread. It is a slam against evolution, not native Americans. Soul and Spirit are not taken into account by Evolution. It is all about genes. We would be much better off with the respect of the planet that the Indians observed. But hey, we have Wal-Mart instead!

That's right, it doesn't. Mainly because it isn't a religion, it relies on observable phenomena. Like, that tigers eat meat. They don't think about the ten commandments when they kill, they do it to survive. Simple as that. And the Native Americans weren't any different. Naturalistic and animistic, yes, but certainly savage when the situation required, and they didn't agonize about the morality of necessity.

What a twisted argument. First of all, your "theory" is more like natural selection than evolution. Second of all, it isn't even fully compliant with natural selection. Shouldn't you be at a clan meeting or one of those PTA meetings about trying to push the 'Intelligent Design' "theory?"
