Hi, I just noticed a few new categories recently added to this site.
One such is "Groups", which allows for people with like minded interests to gather and create new thread topics within that group. CS provides various 'sample' groups, which I understand will soon be deleted. Examples they provide include "Harley Riders", "Retired Group". The interest groups could be endless.
I was just wondering what you think of this new addition, and how comfortable you might feel in using this facility. I am considering starting a "Travel" group.

I think it could be a good benefit. Allows like minded people to share stories, etc. Makes you more in tune with others with similar interests or backgrounds. Narrows the field some but can create a place for great exchanges of ideas, thoughts and the like.
Sounds like a neat feature. It will be interesting to see what groups develop over time. And yes, I might use it as well to chat with others with similar interests. Thank you for pointing this out, V...I hadn't really noticed it.

Only a few groups are required.

Chemically sedated, i'll let you know when i come around.
spicey1: As if there isn't enough hatred on this site lets add some cliques too! Good idea
Ah Spicey, this is unlike you.
I think to expand the site, with groups, in their own forum, is not a bad idea, a travel group, and say, like Jan suggests, people who do the same job, she and I are in education.
It may well be a good thing.
I don't see the hatred, at all, I see people falling out, but on the whole, there is no hatred, not from my point of view.

Hi Dru, I'm not usually very observant. It did take a while for my eyes to see the bright red 'new' against 4 new categories

Hi spicey.
Interesting you should mention 'cliques'. Over time, I have seen people hear complain about small groups of people getting together on a thread. I guess this is natural, people gravitate to those that interest them, for whatever reason. Maybe you could start a group, and make it totally private, with members by your invitation only. That is a feature of the 'group' cat. So if you really want to be restrictive and certain of who belongs and who does not, here is your opportunity.
Just letting you know I have just created a new Travel Group. It is called "Holiday Travel in the EU".
It is open to the entire CS public.
I am looking forward to all the travel goss to come. And in all that, we might be able to generate interest for a small group to join me at the 'Cinque Terre" in Italy later this year. That way, I can stop pestering Lagoona to be my knight in shining armour in case I fall off the cliffs!!!
