It's been almost two weeks since I have had a cigarette. It's been hard but hopefully this time I will make it.
What has helped is the cost of a pack going up. When I left NH, they were up to $5.90 a pack. Down here they are just over $5.00 a pack.
I switched to having one or two cigars a day which help quite a bit in the need to have something in my hands and the need for nicotine has diminished as well.
With time, we shall see grin

p.s. Shelia is happy with the idea of my quitting cigarettesgrin

Congratulations, Earl! I'm cutting back and working on other things to help me...hopefully some day soon I'll be able to say the same thing. The continual price increases sure help with that desire and motivation to quit! thumbs up

good for you..

Eric smokes and likes to quit..and i will
support him either way..

He has to have the will power to do..

I smoke when i was 16 to 26..

Quit cold turkey when i got pregnant..

Maybe when we get to canada he will be able
to put his mind to it and quit..

but so much stress here and trying to sell
so he turns to his smokes..

so hopefully one day he will do it..

Until then i will be by his side in what
ever he choses to doteddybear

Nagging definitely does not work. It was one thing my ex did about my smoking.

I've been smoking since I was 13 and 50 is coming up real quick. I've had one triple by-pass just shy of age 35 and I'm starting to feel the effects again. It's time

As of Tuesday, it will be a month without a cigarette. This is the longest I have gone without. It hasn't been easy

I posted this in the EU and Irish forums, it's worth reading.

If there's anyone interested in, Alan Carr's stop smoking book is available to read for free online at this link. Just type his name into the "author" space.

Congrats to all who are achieving their goal!!!cheering

I quit for 13 years.... but am a smoker again. What can I say, I enjoy it and my last lung xray was clear, the doc says that even with the smoking and the extra weight I carry my health is excellent. I´m sure the time will come again when I choose not to smoke... but until then smoking

Any of you folks thought of growing your own tobacco? You know, there are seeds you can buy online for growing your own tax free smokes.

Plus you can add goodies to your tobacco to give your homemade cigs extra kick.dancing

Don't need to buy seeds. I can drive thru parts of NC and into SC to find fields of tobaccogrin
