Until man made helicopters.....the locust of Revelation was a terrible thing to consider. Then it became clear with other things that those locust were helicopters......etc.....WAR! Without them.....misunderstandings and confusion.
There is no confusion with religion for the religious ones as there is no questioning of it. Pure blind faith avoids the misunderstanding of it's creators, us, mankind in his early state of ignorance and fear.
Science is always questioning itself and re-questioning when previous theories are proved wrong, resulting in the real search for the yet unknown truths i.e. facts not fictional passifying fairy stories. If there is a God, why didn't he limit our intellect to prevent our questioning his existance ?

The very intellect that questions is the one who has allowed the questioning in the first place.
RillyNiceGuy: The static universe theory was PROVEN unsound by your big bang guys! You are going backwards my friend!
Who's to say that our universe is not itself traveling at speed, perhaps way beyond the speed of light which is perhaps just a phenomenon governed by our local universal laws of physics.

Nope...Can't be done. The Bible says Sorry, not my line
Grandepensees: Just because our puny little minds cannot fathom infinity doesn't mean that everything HAD to have had a beginning.
I don't believe in the 'Big Bang' THEORY and why should I? Science is nice but would you believe someone if their story on anything changed every five to ten years?
Don't get me wrong, I DO think that science and spirituality are compatible, I just don't think one or the other have the monopoly on Truth.
Agreed, but they can add elements that gets us closer to the truth...more so with Science since it is trying to prove various concepts from various religions.
I did mention infinity and fractals in my earlier posts...we are on the same page, no beginning, no end...just infinity. I'm just trying to throw some ideas out there before and beyond the big bang...certainly, something was going on before the big bang with different matrices, consciousness, and existences. Maybe the big bang and this universe is part of something even greater...beyond our imaginations...
GirlWednesday: Romans 1, 22-25
What you are suggesting is that this western and manipulated God in the OT looks to those who worship him in humility and respectful fear and despises those who choose their own ways. So, if God gave us free will, where is it really? And why would this God you blindly believe in not understand our curiosities? Your God is supposed to be understanding right? The God depicted in the OT seems kinda mean to me.
'I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel when they waylaid them as they came up from Egypt. Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy everything that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys. (1st Sam 15:2-3)

Contradictions, the Bible is saturated with...
Why do you keep rehashing the same old crap? Every question you pose has been answered to death. It's to bad it is not to your satisfaction, but you either accept the answers or you don't and obviously you don't. That is of course your perogative, but it seems to me a big waste of everyones time and effort. jmo

gooddogman: There were flys that lived in peace....
I can think of at least one fly that's resting in peace...done in by the 'most powerful man in the world.' The good news is, we found something HE CAN do.
