My son just told me that "Paranormal Activity" has been described, hands down, as the scariest movie of all time. uh oh

Anyone seen it? I'm not even sure if it's out yet, but I think it is.

My son who is 24, seems hesitant to watch it, as even the trailer scared him enough to disturb his sleep. I remember simialr hype when Hannibal was on. At the end of the marathon movie, I headed for a burger!grin

Here is the trailer...

cool cheers

exoticj: i agree..

The original Omen movie scared me when I first saw it as it quoted bits out of the bible and the like. I think it was the first time I heard words like Armageddon and six hundred three score and six.devil

I love scary movies. Saw, Nightmare on Elm Street, Asylum, The Abandoned, Cube. Never had a movie actually scare me in a lot of years, but White Noise gave me a healthy respect for static on the radio or TV.

another vote for the Exorcist, Cube was pretty scary too and a really great movie. The Shining didn't rattle my cage at all. The original Frankenstein scared me as a little kid. Alien & Aliens was pretty scary.

Funny you mentioned "Bridges...." the first encounter with that was when I heard it read as an audio book every morning on my clock radio. Every morning was another chapter. It was very enjoyable but I wouldn't pay ten pesos to watch the movie.

High Five Girl!

But the movie clip gave me goosebumps that was left on here for us to see.

The scariest movies for me were

Jaws (the original)
Cujo
and
The Blair Witch Project

I saw the movie and it's a "nothing movie". They show stupid things like a door opening by itself-----so what? Anybody can make a movie like that. The only scarey part is that the couple happen to watch an exorcism on tv & the person in that film ate their own arm. That was just a 2 minute thing. The rest of "Paranormal Activity" is nothing----just alot of "someone's in the house!!", but you never see the spirit or force who does the clamoring in the house. Final evaluation----a very, very, over-rated movie.
