CjTenorSax: Sunday is not the seventh day. It is the first day.

You may be correct.
Personally I don't believe the Lord cares, if because of circumstances, I make "Thursday" my day of rest.
The reasons it was given is, because all men need a day to rest.

hollandgirl: Please read and study the New Testament.
The Lord had one plan in the old testament but after Jesus came on the scene this plan changed, as this was ordaine and told about in the old.
Love one another Jesus said. If you do this you have fulfilled at ten commandments

I have no intention of reading the New Testement until I've finished reading the old, I don't believe Jesus is the son of God because there is no evidence of it (and don't start quoting the Bible at me) because that is a book written by people who already believed in Jesus as the son of God and therefore is not an unbiased source. So lets hear the proof that Jesus is the son of god without reference to the Bible.

again, the thousand years IS AS a day. It isnt saying a thousand years IS a day. Important to note. It is merely saying that our view of time and Gods are completely different.

You do realize that the Bible is allegorical, don't you? You should also keep in mind that, inspired by God or not, it was written by humans--and we tend to screw things up on a regular basis, not to mention getting confused over simple things like putting our socks on before our shoes.

thumbs up This is a truth not mentioned enough. God comes to and relates to each believer in a personal way, enlightening their understanding and speaking to their heart. It is never the same between persons. That is why faith is always a personal matter, although truth itself is universal.

rohaan: I agree. I'm a believer, too, and I have what some other Christians would find to be a differing point of view (abut I don't think I'm wrong). We are all different. It is SUPPOSED to be that way. We all conceive God differently. It is SUPPOSED to be that way. Haven't you noticed that many Christians say they believe God/Jesus/The Holy Spirit to be a "personal" savior? Then they 'qualify' it by adding this is only true if you believe and do everything THEY tell you to! What an assumption of superiority! What crap! God is different for each one of us and those intrepretations are different because they are SUPPOSED to be. When will people 'get' this?

If anyone is bothered by Bible "contradictions", look up their refutations. The same with the allegation that Christianity borrowed from paganism. Never take other people's word for something as serious as your faith. teddybear

hollandgirl: Lol Where, in which Bible, did you read there where three wise men or Magi?
Three gift are mentioned, so people just like you denote this meant three Kings.
There is the problem, what people read into what it never said in the Bible. You are NOT answering my question but give me one instead.

Hi. I beg your pardon. I thought I had answered you question.
I said that the passage was open to interpritation.
I think it is far too general to be directly associated with a specific person, but I can see tour reasoning.

I find that one of the most difficult things about the scriptures. There are many parts that are not supposed to be taken litterally, yet there are many other parts that are supposedly actual events. Who decides which is which? Each man must make his own decision, which is a question of fath.

As for the '3 kings', it is generally accepted by many scholars that there were 3, as there were 3 gifts. I mean, who's gonna turn up empty handed? laugh

Again a matter of opinion and open to interpritation.
That was only one of many points that I raised. I am not saying that what I written is absolute truth. I would never be so arrogant. Again, it is up to each of us to make our own decisions about these matters based on the best available information.

Thank you.

blah blah, untill you meet God you will never know what is up or down, or even if there is an up or down. When those in Argentina look up, those in Canada look down. Who is actually looking up and who is looking down? Atheism gives you zero reference point on life, truth or 42
