I disagree completely. I am sure some people will accept an advance, while still having no desire to take the contact any further, simply because they don't want to cause offence by rejecting you. It's up to you to sense wether the other party wants to take it further. Don't be offended when your first email is not replied to. Just back off, but there's no need to take offence.

I have often wondered the very same thing myself, I am assuming this is for the likes of myspace etc.
They add you then you dont hear from them again....
I have often asked that very same question and cant seem to get an answer, I guess some people are just funny about different things, but if thats the case better to just delete and move on, not worth your time!!

I think sometimes people can take things too seriously on this site. They get their hopes and expectations up too high. I find that I get loads of people contacting me, but unfortunately if I chose to write to all of them, I would be on here 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!!! Usually if a flower or mail is sent and I am not intersted, I just send a wee "Thank you, but we are not a match" flower back and that is that....nobody is offended. However sometimes, people do seem to be offended, and I then get further mail asking why i won't contact them!! It would be nice if people would just accept the flower as a token of politeness, leave it at that, and move on.

Well ,some people want just have many people in their list to tell others they have many friends in list,of course from my point of view is a stupid thing to have many in u list but not chat,has no sense better few but good friends.

Yeah...I agree with you totally. That's the reason I can't handle Facebook! I don't particularly want 15,000 "friends" who I know nothing about!!
