Noahs Ark ( Archived) (292)

Where was Noahs Ark built? How many trees did it take to build? Does anybody actually believe that Noah and his family built a ship that size that was sea worthy to stand a storm for 40 days and 40 nights? How did they bail out 40 days of continious rain so the ark wouldn't sink or at least get swamped?

I breezed through the book at a motel once. Seemed like a lot of killing and wars going on in the part I read.

BTW, "with God all things are possible" doesn't cut it! God supposedly told Noah to build it, he didn't say I'll built it for you now did he?

good point! Also somebody has to shovel all that crap from the whole ship everyday and I guess throw it over the side.

"Elephants are herbivores (plant eaters), but they cannot digest cellulose, the substance that makes up much plant matter. They spend about three-quarters of their time, day and night, selecting, picking, preparing and eating food. An adult elephant in the wild will eat in the region of 100 to 200 Kg (220 to 440 lb.) of vegetation per day depending on the habitat and the size of the elephant" Using the low estimate that's 440 lbs (220X2 elephants) per day comes to 17,600 lbs of grass for the whole trip and that's just to feed 1 pair of animals.

I’m sure we are still discovering new species yearly. I guess they would be the ones that never made it into the ark. laugh

If creation (about six thousand years ago) took place as it is said in the Bible, then the people and the animals had not yet covered the face of the global Earth.
The people's were in a small area and so were (samples of) the animals of the Earth(land).
After the flood and the ship landed, just as people's are varied today from only those small few people......so with animals.
Look at the birds called Budgies.....all of the colors we see today and varities are from inbreeding within a short time (about 100 years) from the wild green. This COULD account for BY the same reason there are many types of many animals today.

The beginning of people and animals was local and the flood could have been global or local....if local then the animals (samples of) of the Earth(land) could have been fewer than we know or understand. Local flood, local people, local animals could have made it possible as well. Both ideas are possible.

To those who are not read.....your remarks will be unsound until you study the subject deeply and understand things beyond the scope of time here.

bouquet

The word translated to UNICORN was (a wild bull or oxen), due to Greek influence in thinking the word was translation wrong. The scripture talked about the "power in its horn/horns" (KJV) and the translators being Greek influence concluded it was a UNICORN in error. Even the verses to follow show the error.

This is the reason one must go back to the scriptures to prove all things. Get a Strong's concordance with Greek and Herbrew dictionaies.

What is there to understand, except,no matter how big a Ship was built,it would be way too small, and since it was Wood, would have broken apart!professor

Not to mention that ONE man could have never built a ship of that magnitude...
