I disagree with this attitude. This can be a giant step for the guy. I´m sure he just wants to be sure. That should allow him to think things over.

Just be cool. It´s a pest to sit and wait for a reply of this nature with all the doubts and self questioning to follow. But that is part of the process. Give it the time it takes and try to take your mind of the question. Do all the things you always wanted to do but never did quote-ing the cliché.

IDK that I'd agree that one is more prone to fantasy than the other?? but I think women are - in general - more comfortable revealing their thoughts & feelings earlier in a relationship

Either way this seems to be his way of doing things. No one knows what he is doing nor why. He might as wll be running away but chasing after him wouldn´t and doesn´t work. So patience is the only alternative.

The word love is not one to be tossed about casually and some serious thoughts and implications can arise if it is. Feelings get hurt if things turn out to be not what they seemed. Sometimes it's hard to decipher between love and lust. I think it takes some time to get a true feel as to which direction the relationship between a couple is headed. I would not choose to jump into something feet first that I was not 99.9% sure of.
