there are many here that do this for the summer months on the rivers and lakes.....as there are not any really bad storms here....but the winters are to cold..

yea, i could'nt imagine living aboard in the northern regions during winter... cold AND wet ??...no thank you...

Canal boats (narrow boats) are very popular in the uk. They can reach a length of 72ft and make very comfortable homes. Unaffected by the weather also.

Ive often had dreams of doing this, actually. A different port every week sounds like fun!
I think I would prefer a houseboat type thing now though, and go travelling through the Great Lakes and up the St. Lawrence when the weather is good.
I do like the idea of hitching up outside a bar in the evenings, though!

yes, i've seen something about them, in the UK....they look interresting....but they could'nt be very sea worthy ??..
