I see how your smutty mind worked there, your alright you are ... I'm doing good ta, nice to know I'm still near the top of your piles ......
gardenhackle: Not the point. The question is "Why is it more terrifying or horrific to imagine dying in a worldwide apocalypse than dying by any other more mundane and, probably painful, means?".
Who said it is any worse?
I control what I can. I eat well and keep active. I drive like a sane person and minimize my risks that I have control over.
What ever is out of my control is out of my control. So, I don't worry about it.
Death is the last great mystery for us. No matter what anyone claims to know we won't know anything for sure until it happens to us. I'm in no great rush but I have no fear about dying.

gardenhackle: Is there a more horrific and terrifying thought than the idea that we could experience a cataclysmic event that would destroy all human life on this planet? Or all life of any sort? Or the planet, itself?
It's great stuff for Hollywood movie plots because it strikes at a very primal fear.
So the philosophical question is this: What difference does it really make to you whether you die in a car accident, from a heart attack or from the impact of a super-meteorite that destroys the world and kills everything else, too? When you die, what does it matter whether you die alone or the whole world dies with you? We're all going to die. And most feel that when we do that's it, end of story, there's no more and so it really wouldn't matter. And if you believe in life after death, then also, why would it matter?
Well If your some of the lucky ones then you wont have to worry about seeing mankind be demolished. I believe in heaven and yes its my afterlife..Im hoping me and my kids will be asleep so when it does come..we will be able to wake up in heaven..Just sayin

Desertguy49: That would be the time to stock up the 4WD with food, supplies, and ammo and head for the remotest area you can find that has game and fresh water available. Oh yeah, and take a hunting bow along too and save the ammo for when you may really need it.
How about some tequila and margarita mix .....along with a blow-up doll and some sheep ( multi-purpose animals)
The world could end tomorrow through a natural disaster and we can do sod all about it....So I never worry about things I have no power over,I mean if the Yellowstone Volcano erupted what could the human race do ....Not a lot and so why worry unless we can stop it and that is impossible. So therefore why worry.Only worry over the things you have the power stop the rest "CE LA VIE" JMO
