u2Kitty: To me there is NO excuse, whether rich or poor to use any humans for medical experiments. In many cases they are not even informed that they are participating in an experiment and that the experiment can`t even be given the benefit of the doubt.

Lawyers just live for this sort of thing here, Kitty. But in a court of law it takes more than internet articles to make a case. Actual facts that can be proven are required. Bashing, however, requires nothing more than a willingness to make defamatory claims no matter how questionable they may be. Think about it.
BellaTheRebel48: "Horrific Medical Tests Of Past Raise Concerns For Today"
"The astounding revelation that U.S. medical researchers intentionally gave Guatemalans gonorrhea and syphilis more than 60 years ago is so horrifying that we want to believe that what happened then could never happen today."
"In recent years, there has been a steady shift of clinical research from testing in the U.S. and other developed nations to the developing world."
On May 16, 1997 former President Bill Clinton apologized to the eight remaining survivors of the Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment.
Now, according to Fox News and a mere 13 years later:Reports indicate that Clinton(not the former president)telephoned President Alvaro Colom to apologize for the Guatemalan STD study. President Colom expressed his anger and outrage.
Tuskegee experiment deja vu U.S. apologizes for Guatemalan STD study
On another note: Photos Show U.S. Soldiers Posing With Afghan Corpses
"Those who have seen the photos say they are grisly:soldiers beside newly killed bodies, decaying corpses and severed fingers."
"Troops allegedly shared the photos by email and thumb drive like electronic trading cards. Now 60-70 of them are being kept tightly shielded from the public and even defense attorneys because of fears they could wind up in the news media and provoke anti-American violence."
So, in other words, the U.S. is still stuck in "business as usual" mode. Oh, well...some things NEVER change!
Bella why don't you mention the party that was in White House when they did the STD study in Guatemala? 1946 to 1948.....Eineshower took office in 1950. Wes under Truman that the STD test were done. Truman was a DEM.
That does not excuse it. Likely there were REP that knew about it. But as he said....the Buck does stop in the Oval Office.
cincity: It is not only the US that has performed such atrocities...
Fine..then you start a thread about other countries that are taking their experiments on people (usually targeted to a select minority type group) to countries all across the globe.
Yes, there are atrocities committed by countries(usually) within their own border, but it's bad enough when a country commits atrocities against its own people, but to go even further as to use the world as your personal guinea pig goes beyond the end of enough!!!

Well, then I wish there were no need for lawyers.
The list I found is probably only the tip of the iceberg - and I still think it deeply wrong no matter if its US - Denmark - Germany - Japan or whatever country that performs it! Or in which decade it happened.
BellaTheRebel48: Exactly! venus...and don't forget the "firewater and beads" that were used to trick the American Indians out of their land.
"Firewater and beads" in exchange for a country.
I think it was for New York Island.....not the entire continental US. At little Big Horn is was repeating winchester rifle, the Plane Indians had traded for the decimated the 7th Calvary. So on occasion they did get something other than....firewater and beads.

Bella if your so angry at America, go move to a country that hasn't hurt anyone in secret.

Take it easy...I was just pointing out the fact the Us us not the only country in the world who has done this...
But then again maybe to some the US is the only country that matters...
jvaski: It's always amazing how some people become animals when given a gun and ordered to do things against humanity......but then sometimes the rest of us might have another perspective if we were in their shoes and having experienced it front row.....
So, the Abu Ghraib Iraq prison torture atrocities taught us nothing???? Photos were taken of torture scenes there also...and...no...I have too much humanity in me to do what these military thugs are doing to people, many of whom are innocent, but I guess that doesn't matter, actually it never has.

Your list goes to 1965. Where is the list that shows the US is still at it?
BellaTheRebel48: Fine..then you start a thread about other countries that are taking their experiments on people (usually targeted to a select minority type group) to countries all across the globe.
How about you showing how the US is still at it please. After all, that is what the thread is called.

u2Kitty: I`m afraid your are right on that (somewhat not surprised ):
Human medical experimentation in the United States: The shocking true history of modern medicine and psychiatry (1833-1965)
Today, the medical experiments continue on the U.S. population and its children. From the mass drugging of children diagnosed with fictitious behavioral disorders invented by psychiatry to the FDA's approval of mass-marketed drugs that have undergone no legitimate clinical trials, our population is right now being subjected to medical experiments on a staggering scale. Today, nearly 50% of Americans are on a least one prescription drug, and nearly 20% of schoolchildren are on mind-altering amphetamines like Ritalin or antidepressants like Prozac. This mass medication of our nation is, in every way, a grand medical experiment taking place right now. As you read through these science experiments, you'll learn the stories of newborns injected with radioactive substances, mentally ill people placed in giant refrigerators, military personnel exposed to chemical weapons by the very government they served and mentally challenged children being purposely infected with hepatitis. These stories are facts, not fiction: Each account, no matter how horrifying, is backed up with a link or citation to a reputable source.
These stories must be heard because human experimentation is still going on today. The reasons behind the experiments may be different, but the usual human guinea pigs are still the same -- members of minority groups, the poor and the disadvantaged. These are the lives that were put on the line in the name of "scientific" medicine.
Speaking of experiments on the mentally ill, my hometown had a facility for the mentally ill and developmentally disabled. The facility made headlines years ago when it was discovered that the doctors were ordering "sterilization" of all patients to prevent the mentally ill from "producing more mentally ill citizens." Shock therapy was going on without the consent of the individual, nor had the families of the mentally ill given consent for steralization or shock theray also known as ECT.
Faithfulness: I am sure that there are other countires in this big world of our that have done things to its peoples and to others als. I am sure that the USA is not the only country guily of wrong doing.
....then by all means, feel free to start your own thread about these other countries "guilty of wrong doing"????
