Boban1: I read somewhere that Jewish people have an higher IQ than others
Could be, but when we start using the term IQ it gets tricky, because you begin to involve mathematics in an attempt to turn the abstract concept of intelligence into a numerical value. Some book attempted that a few years ago and it became very controversial, which is no surprise:
Jadzia: I beg to differ on that one. The Arabs can also claim that they have their god on their side, but this is a conflict between humans, not between gods.
That is why they so frequent yell .."Alla Ackbar" when fighting or detonating a car bomb. To tell us that is just a conflict between humans.
I will begin to believe that when they show me a linage from Abraham to the Mohammead the Prophet. Such linage would be longer than the combined linage to Abraham to Moses, from Moses to David, from David to Jesus Christ combined..........
There is 600 years of time from Jesus Christ to Mohammad the Prophet....and he gave no heir apparent for the line to be continued. That would be 60 generations to cover......with marriages and births....
In 1967 the combined armies of 5 Arab countries attacked Israel. The israelis were outnumbered and outgunned, and yet, it took them only 6-days to repel the invasion and conquer enemy territory.
The difference? The Arabs had a lot more personnel and more guns, but the Israelis had a lot more brains.
Not trying to get into an argument, and not going to get into too much detail or the reasons why, but a couple of things regarding this, first, the IAF, (Israeli Air Force), attacked first, with perfect strategical timing, thereby wiping out most threats the Arabs had, and eventually led to a great victory with significant ground taken with the Sinai peninsula, Jordan west bank, Jerusalem & Golan Heights in Syria..
However, in 1973 came Yom Kippur, which, just like the IAF before, was a surprise attack and they gained significant ground and made an impact on the IAF and initially repelled attacks from the IAF with the use of SAM's, (Surfice-to-Air missile), and attacking on two fronts. There then became a support distinction between the two, as not long into this war, Israel announced it only had enough supplies to carry on for 4 days, which this then prompted the USA to provide them with new aircraft and ECM, (electronic counter-measures), which turned the tide. This is because the IAF had, at that time, what was considered to be the best fighter/bomber, the MD Phantom II and the ECM's cut down the effectiveness of the SAM's. Compare this to the Arabs inferior aircraft and more importantly, the fact that the USSR did not re-supply the Arabs with anything like the USA did, it is not surprising that those with the best equipment came of best, but may have been different had the USSR supplied the Arabs as the US did..
Also, during this conflict, both sides exaggerated kill claims, but the USA seems to have a more accurate count, with aircraft losses being: 242 Egyptian; 179 Syrian + 21 Iraqi, with 114 Israeli lost. The reason for this is the US utilised the SR-71 Blackbird to see how things were developing, and no doubt provided certain details to Israel.

End of the day, Holy land or not Holy land, I wish we would all just respect each others beliefs and to share significant religious land marks with each other, ideally resulting in no blood shed, just as India done recently with the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya..
Albertaghost: Foxbats over Dimona: The Soviets' Nuclear Gamble in the Six-Day War (Yale University Press), argues that it was a Soviet plan to take out Israel's nuclear facility at Dimona, and with it the country's aspiration to develop nuclear weapons.
Yeah, well, they can formulate conspiracy theories ad infinitum, as long as they can neither be proved nor disproved.
In my previous post, I limited myself to historical facts.
sugamountin: Is the Holy Land,.Holy? This seems to be the true question. With the break down of peace talks due to Israels continued settlement construction in the occupied territories is seems Peace is the last thing Israel wants. Why is this?
Boban's right, there's no money in peace. Plus they are occupants of a territory that used to belong to the Palestinians who lost their homes because of them and now live like refugees hoping one day they might get their homes back. Occupants never bring peace.

Your historical facts were wrong. Even the Israeli leadership I quoted disagrees with you. I provided the Soviet story after I explained the cold hard facts on the ground as history knows it showed you were mistaken simply as interest and speculation as to why the whole war took place as both Arabs and Israelis did not want to go to war.
Israel attacked the Arabs in the Six Day war, not the other way around.

Israel just offered to freeze settlement const. if the Palestinians would agree to acknowledge Israel's rite to exsist. They refused. The only solution is compromise, on both sides.

There is for the majority however, for the Palestinian leadership it is certainly in their interest to remain determined not to ever have peace or, their people a home.

Jews used top live there as well. Palestinians left under the instructions of the invading Arab armies who promised that the Jews would be destroyed and they then could return and steal the land from the Jews.

Nope. Israel launched a preemptive strike against the Egyptian air force using heat seeking missiles, as the Egyptians had already started their planes' engines. The Israelis were still outnumbered and they were still attacked by 5 nations, not 1.
