Ansd the international community stated their intent and the israelis adhered to their part of the issue. Palestinians, who never had a home of their own did not and still have no home of their own. And won't until they do adhere to their part of the resolution drawn up by the international community.

Good post Sean. I agree that israel is heavy handed and this does not come from being Jeiwsh but rather resigned to the historical certainty that there will never be peace as the Palestinians nor Arabs have never actually proposed and backed an actual plan. So, when confronted with a rock throwing mob, (you I'm sure like I, have had rocks thrown at you by Palestinian teens at some point in your tours), just say the hell with it and respond with force as nothing will change.
In turn, the Palestinians see this as further proof they are dealing with a hate machine and feel justified in furthering any violence they can once their enemy has been dehumanized and feeds the cycle yet again.

Well Sean, Not quite sure you've been following my posts to date but to say we are on the same page would be an understatement. If you see my petty yarns on Conrad being over medicated or Alberta being short as sophomoric, I'd agree. Where you chime in support for Al, I can't follow it because he thinks Israel is right in all aspects and positions. 
The fact that you have served does give you clout. All I see is years and years of collective punishment and military purges. I read many different publications , BBC Al Jazeer, Har'retz, and try and draw from them what IS happening. What I do know is it s a desperate situation and Israel is foot-dragging for a reason, to steal more land under the guise of "state of war" BS.
And by living in the United States we Americans see the "influence peddling Israel does. The Zionist in carefully placed positions, many times purchased with American tax dollars. This makes me and MANY Americans sick.

"The Egyptian view is as follows: Let's agree on an end game," Gheit said after talks in Sofia with his Bulgarian counterpart Nikolay Mladenov.
"The end game is that the international community, the Quartet -- the Americans, the European Union, the Russian federation as well as the United Nations -- would agree on parameters for the settlement (between the Israelis and Palestinians)," he said.
The US admitted defeat on Wednesday in its efforts to secure an Israeli freeze on West Bank settlement building, a key condition of the Palestinians for resuming peace talks.
Israeli and Palestinian officials are expected to visit Washington next week for separate talks with the US administration on ways to keep the peace process alive.
But Gheit warned that time was limited for reaching a two-state solution to the conflict.
"We continue talking without settlement and we continue haggling without doing any breakthrough, then in a few years there will not be the possibility of two states living side by side," Gheit said.
He urged the drafting either by the United States, the Quartet (UN, US, EU and Russia) or a group of experts of "a framework agreement -- two pages, three pages of grand understanding -- to be offered by the international community to both parties telling them: come forward and negotiate on such basis and on specific time."
"You cannot just have an unlimited period of time," Gheit said.

SilverBirch: JERUSALEM — Israeli police were accused of "flagrant violations" of the law Thursday over their harsh and at times violent treatment of Palestinian children suspected of stone-throwing in east Jerusalem.
The allegations were detailed in a letter sent to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by a group of 60 Israeli professionals, among them experts in medicine, psychology, education, social work and law -- all of whom work with children.
The letter expresses concern about the growing number of testimonies submitted by Palestinian minors who have been arrested by police in occupied and annexed east Jerusalem, notably in the flashpoint neighbourhood of Silwan.
"We are writing ... to express our deep concerns about the physical and emotional welfare and proper development of children and young people in east Jerusalem in the light of police behaviour during the investigation and arrest of minors in this area," it said.
"Over the last few months, there has been a growing number of testimonies of minors and their families which point to flagrant violations of the rights of detained minors, and of the use of violence during the investigation of children and young people who are suspected of throwing stones in Silwan."
Youngsters have testified how they were dragged out of bed in the dead of the night, cuffed and taken for investigation without being accompanied by their parents -- and sometimes without their family even being informed, it said.
During the investigation, "they suffered threats and humiliation at the hand of the investigators .. which sometimes involved substantial physical violence," it said, noting with concern the arrests of children under the age of 12.

Palestinian officials said that U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton should have blamed Israel for the failure of the latest Mideast efforts
The officials reacted on Saturday to a Clinton speech before Brookings Institution's Saban Center for Middle East Policy's seventh annual forum in Washington, in which she said Israelis and Palestinians both bear responsibility for the failure of the direct talks that took place in September.
In her speech on Friday, Clinton criticized the leadership of both Israel and the Palestinian Authority, saying they had "not yet made the difficult decisions that peace requires. Like many of you, I regret that we have not gotten farther, faster.
I'd say its time for international intervention.

Would that be the same international community that the Palestinians and Arabs didn't listen to from 1948 onward to present day when they failed to live in peace with the joooos or is that another international community?
