When they don't read my profile by saying they find it interesting and want to know more about me. My profile states I'm not looking for a relationship

vcroome: I wonder if any others who have tried online dating before have any 'warning signs' that immediately let you know that someone is probably not 'the one'?

For me it's using 'u' instead of 'you', '4' instead of 'for' and other chat-speak. I have the idea that someone who won't put in the time to properly type out their message when they are seeking their partner, they might not put as much effort as I'd like into the relationship itself, either.

Any others? Specific phrases people repeat in their profiles that send up red flags?

People sticking there tongue out on their profile is number one turn off thumbs up

tongue only teasing comfort i would say nudity is a turn off as you don't expect to see that from a potential date .

'Hello lady, you are so beautiful, my heart turned over when I saw your profile.' yuk!
I also hate it when they send their e-address before even speaking to you. I also joined this site for security, and I will spend a long time to get to know the right person by listening to them on the forums, because that's where you get to know their character. Well, I think so anyway.
What's the rush?

vcroome: That does make sense... When I text, even to my close friends, I always type out all the words. I feel that I'm disrespecting people if I don't bother to speak properly to them. Maybe it's just a girl thing, because my brother uses abbreviations any chance he gets.

A lack of grammar and typing full sentences shows me someone not interested enough. Other warning signs; speaking of meeting too soon, throwing the word love around like it's an old sock, and asking intimate/personal questions very soon in correspondence.

#1 turn-off on online dating sutes:
Viretually all of the attractive profiles are either fake or way too far away or both.
And pretty much all of the profiles that may actually be real and local are exactly the type of people who have always given personal ads (any kind) a bad name: they couldn't get a date at gunpoint.

Most of them sound like scams. As most people are not typists, I think the abbreviations are not a turn off really, but sweet , honey and crap like that is!

first number one warning flag is when someone gets right on you and wants you to contact their email or instant messenger.

the biggest giveaway is their name with a whole bunch of numbers that followrolling on the floor laughing
