kizzy27: The disasters of the last 6 months are incredable , each one I think wow it cant get any worse , what is happening to our planet?
Mother nature has pms reallll bad so hang on folks the worst may not yet be upon us ....

Cardwell tully are under flood again still not yet recovered from Yasi! Newzealand is still recovering victims from their own earthquake , I pray your not effected in anyway.
memories of the boxing day tsunami fill my mind I remember being on the beach with my radio and hearing the reporter say that 12 people had lost thier lives and thinking man thats terrible a dozen people killed , ofcourse the tragedy blew out to quarter of a million souls lost ....like many I was numb for months
I pray its not the case for the japanese

Hi kizzy, yes, it's been a roller coaster of a 6mth period with Mother Nature! Just caught up on the latest details on the neighbour's TV. The reporter mentioned how people did not panic. The Japanese are so mentally prepared for such things. Still, it's so unfair. Too many innocents involved. Pity nothing happens to the likes of Gaddafi! very mad

Seismologists predict a major earthquake for Adelaide this year. Part of the city sits directly on fault lines (Good one, Colonel Light mumbling ) including my parents' home and where I live. We've had various levels of quakes over the years, and as recently as late last year. Everyone seemed to have felt it except me. I live on a busy main road. I wasn't able to tell the difference!

Blizzard14u: don’t believe half of what you are tolled, the Mayans died out because off the diseases that the Spanish gave them, plus the brutal sick treatment by so called Christians? You got a computer look it up!

The truth is out there!

The world as we now know it will not end until 2060 the end of the AGE of Pisces when the new AGE will begin, the AGE of Aquarius,

And just to let you know how old I am, as I say too the kid everyday learn what you can now to get the grades you can so you wont have to work your whole life for others,

That is quite an eye opener - but realistically we can't do anything to prevent earthquakes!!!!

Yep we can't control them, i lived on the side of the Comboyne mountain near Taree, and every now and then you could hear a deep booming sound going on inside the mountain.

The Newcastle earth quack likely had links to that.

I was interested to note the fault lines here in eastern Victoria...

I had a look on the net for info on earthquakes in WA and was quite amazed to see how many there have been. One of the last big ones was in Meckering but there was one in Kalgoorlie only last year.
Australia as a continent is not as dormant as we imagine.
In WA this year we have been plagued by storms, cyclones and extreme heat. The fire that went through the hillside a few kms (was started by a human) was really scary - got me thinking about what i would do if something bad happened.

TutorGirl: i was worried about the whole world ending thing...i was having a very logical conversation with a guy from uni and he believes that the world will end in 2012 however when the Mayans said the world was going to end they only knew about a certain small part of the world, so perhaps that part of the world will end and we will be fine. unless of course you live where ever they lived

Now there's some good logic to answer the bad logic ... The Mayan Calender ends ergo ... the World must end ... The Mayans have never written that the World ends, their Calender just ends. But as you say, perhaps their part of the World ends ... The Mayans lived in Central America.

Uh Oh ... If Central America sunk the World's sea currents would change. The Gulf Stream may not warm Western Europe anymore ... now my head hurts. This pessimism is no fun!
