tallman51: I don't think anyone is doubting what Von Braun did Galrad but even he knew that the saturnV rocet was designed to orbit the earth safely and for up to 10 days. He never ever suggested that they would travel 242,000 miles and back.
hahaha More of your misleading information. The SaturnV rocket (F-1 engine) he designed not to circle the earth. Rather it was designed primarily to lift heavy payloads like it did with the lunar spacecrafts.
I'll give you $10 USD to ride one of those F-1 engines to the moon and if you replace and retrieve the now dusty reflectors left their by the Apollo missions.
While you are there, why don't you mine some helium-3 and bring it back and give it to the Russians too and be their hero! They would love to be doing so after their review of moon rocks brought back by the Apollo missions.

SlimJim2009: why hasnt there being any maned landings since 1972? I dont believe it was real..
Wow, you saying that makes it sound like there is a reason to go back. Tell me, what would be the benefit? We went, we saw, we did some experiments in the name of science and found out that the moon is a huge dry rock, what do else do you need to know about the moon? Have someone else spend the money to land on the moon once again. If a country was to commit that kind of time and energy and spend that kind of money in the name of science, why not shoot for Mars?
Aaaaaand,,, were back to square one.... Some country will send man to Mars, some won't believe it happened, and its quite possible that the only benefit derived from the mission will be scientific knowledge.
Next they'll be saying the World Trade Center collapsing was just another Hollywood hoax. Honestly, if anyone has conclusive proof that the moon landings were fake, then please by all means share it with us because a "I know something but I cant tell" routine really doesn't convince anyone, we can all do that but without evidence it's just so much hot air. And I really cant believe that some people think it was fake just because they dont understand how you can get shadows on the moon,,, for heavens sake. Ever heard of the Sun, that big shiny thing in the sky
what makes me to believe that it was a fake landing is,how come they make 6 landings in 3 years and no one landing in 40 years.and other countries such as Russia,Japan,or european space agensy is not ready yet to land in there when usa done it 40 years ago.just common sence and thinking.

Valid thinking. I dont think anyone doubts that the space race was initially fueled by Cold War tensions at a time where the US and the USSR seemed hell bent on out doing each other. If you could put 3 men into space, it also meant you could put a bigger nuclear weapon into space as well, thats part of why the space race had so much inertia in those days. Towards the end of the Appollo mission's other factors were coming into play, mainly economic and political which affected the planned timetable for space exploration, plus public opinion as to the value of space exploration had an effect as well. Couple that with various changes in administration, throw in a couple of unexpected war's, the odd reccession and the shuttle accidents, it all adds to the delays in keeping the space program going.

as we see US had a big reason to fake it.and not mention that they used big amount of public money for this mission.they could easily steel that money and make hollywood screens for just 4 million$

Thats not what I said at all, I was answering the question as to why there were no more moon landings after Appollo.

ok.i see.but i think they never had a technology to land in the moon.even after spending huge amount of public money for this mission.they had to answer Russians somehow after russians put the man in space so, as americans say:if u cannot make it,then fake it. but to put the man in space and landing on the moon r 2 diferrent things.today they almost everyday sending man in space.but no one to the moon in 40 years .and thats after 6 successful landings?!no i wouldnt believe it,mate.

So iff yea went to the Moon on a Harley ,not breakin any speed limits , say 55ml an hour ,
It would take about 4.5 yrs to get there .
Nassa would probably forget about yea ,given time .
Yah, I agree. When I went there for a visit a few years ago. I asked one of the peeps there to remind me where i parked, and he forgot.
So I wouldn't trust them with a billion dollar spaceship
