DUBLINGUY1973: Oh I'm sure he will but he knew when he signed that he wasn't going to start many games for United next season. I'm sure we will see more of him playing for United as time goes by though. He's definitely one for the future and its always reassuring to have a young player like him on the bench.

you would have preferred Jordan Hendersoncomfort

Nah, i'd prefer Wesley Sneijder but i have no complaints about Phil Jones. We needed a decent young defender after Gary Neville retired and although I thought Chris Smalling was a great buy, Wes Brown and Jonny Evans don't exactly inspire confidence.

I wouldn't complain if United managed to get Luka Modric but the player i really would like is Sneijder. I have my doubts whether either player will be let join United but i wouldn't say no to getting Alexis Sanchez.

everyone would like Wesley Sneijder. if ye pull it off, more powerthumbs up but what i meant is its common knowledge Fergie wanted Henderson, and imo Phil Jones was a reactionary buy because Fergie was pissed at Kenny pippin him to Henderson. Don't get me wrong, i'd like Phil Jones, but i'm not unhappy either at our big rivals havin shelled out on a player they don't really need (compared to the other areas they need strengthenin)

Do you honestly think Fergie would spend €16m on a player just to get his own back on Kenny because Kenny signed the player Fergie really wanted? confused

Yeah Fergie wanted Henderson but I seriously doubt he is that childish.

With Gary Neville retiring, United did need another defender. Like i said, Brown and Evans are not good enough in my opinion to cover for Ferdinand and Vidic and i think Fergie realises that too. Okay Gary Neville was a right back not a centre half but we already brought in the Da Silva twins who can both play in that position and if they both get injured we have O'Shea. There is talk of Brown going to Sunderland so if he does then getting Jones would make even more sense.

Ideally you need two players for every position though and if Brown goes to Sunderland then United will have eight defenders.

I knew you didn't have a high opinion of Fergie but i didn't think it was that low laugh

People are always saying how Alex doesn't have much money to spend so i don't think it would make no sense whatsoever to waste money on a defender if he didn't think he needed him. Especially out of spite.

Your a west ham fan? I salute youtip hat
They're my little second teamapplause

I remember the 98/99 season i was only a kiddie and city was relegated (i remember the year coz it was the year of the epic division 2 play off) anyway for some strange reason i supported west ham when watching the premier league all that season, it was the strangest thing. I've had a soft spot for them ever sincelaugh

I was heartbroken when you got relegated but i think it will help you get your act togetherthumbs up

I love hammers fans! And i love the hammers youth squad, you's have the best one! Shame that west ham is a selling club and has to sell all their good playersmoping

anyway, long story short - you support a good club that plays good honest footballthumbs up

Hiya wave

Yes, used to be a member for many seasons. The mid 1980's was when west ham were at their best & i remember seeing them win at Man Utd, Chelsea & Arsenal all in the same season. Very good times in those days except for all the hooliganism. Wouldn't really want to see a return of all that - had some very dodgy away days laugh

I never said you did laugh

You obviously don't think much of him though if you think Fergie is that spiteful.

I don't think its a case of Kenny getting to Fergie. I think its a case of Kenny being one of the few managers that doesn't let Alex get to him.

Kenny was one of the few managers over the years that didn't fall for Fergie's mind games and i think they both have a mutual respeect for each other.

Fergie hates it when someone gets one over on him and I don't think he has ever forgiven Kenny for pipping him to the title in 1995.
