Why are there people starving in Africa blues

Why do they have to sit, helpless, and watch their babies die crying

Why CAN'T we feed the world, help them to have what every human on this planet needs and deserves - food, shelter, clean water and dignity doh

Probably because they are too poor, or have no education to even know that it exists, let alone buy it!

I know the world sucks really - impossible to fix it seems. All kudos to those that help out - like with animals, it would distress me too much. But we can send money to the groups that do help.

I believe it's a cultural thing tony.

People in those countries have large families because their infant mortality rate is so high.

Education is surely the key to a better future, in every way, but until they have hope, it's all they have dunno

It has to be political, there's no excuse for the Western world to have more and more, and for those people to have less and less.

While we donate and that money gets poured into a bottomless pit, there's got to be reasons behind these, and other nations, remaining downtrodden.

Well instead of just feeding and trying to save thier lives why arnt all the organizations who help them educating them on birth control and trying to find a solution to the over population of Africa.

The birth control programs are in place but I honestly think there must be some kind of political agenda behind this.

It's outrageous that the Western world is getting fatter while people are starving to death.

Local governments and rebels probably have a lot to do with it - corruption and chaos thrive. Money does not go where it should anyway and as for actually governing - they are into self interest only and improving their own world to the cost of their own people and country. These governments should be overthrown like Iraq - but what is in it for the western world? Not enough oil or coal or whatever......

I imagine it's the same as with any charitable organisation - a huge percentage of the money would go into admin costs, labour, materials, transport, you name it.

We might want to stop giving, but it doesn't mean we have to stop caring does it?

And besides, how are those people ever going to get educated if the wealthy nations turn off the tap?

They do do a lot - there are education programs but they can't always get to everyone, nor are they always there to provide the contraception people need everyday of their lives. And also the men in these countries are often demanding in their needs and I believe women can't always say no.

Huge problem, huge population and hard to manage it all to provide solutions for all.

Yeah I know, charity begins at home, but I'm talking about the big picture .. all these powerful wealthy nations that turn a blind eye.

Like I said, it's political .. those people have no "use" other than for testing purposes - chemicals, genetically modified crops, medications and so on.

They are human laboratory rats.

As horrible as it is for those poor people l think we should look after own first, the homeless, sick who cant afford basic medical treatment and the hungry/ mal nourished people of Australia.
Ive also have always wandered just how much of all that donated money actually gets overseas to help these people and how much is going into the fatcats pockets.
