Scholes was brilliant today. That Ballotelli needs a good hiding laugh If Mourinho says he is unmanageable you got to listen.

They were not doing it for you grin

Serious kudos to Ferguson and the whole team though. Convincing Scholes back was a master stroke. The last two years have convinced me more than ever how good a manager he is. I don't rate either teams and he has managed better teams but he has got the most out of them this year and last. I can still see you dropping points before the derby which could make that match more interesting than it is now. cheers

P.S. It was not penalty nor a sending off tongue laugh

I got in the pub late and missed the penalty incident. In fact it wasn't till about twenty mins into the second half I found out they were down to ten men...laugh

I think it will be done and dusted before we go to wastelands especially if Scholes keeps up that kind of form, could well be the best midfielder in the country right now.

But fair play to your guys Vinny, they're looking good again, a far cry from the the team we turned over at OT earlier in the season.

cheers

But still some way off competing for the title methinks Gra. I still blame Wenger for our start to the season. Buying 4/5 players on the last day of the transfer window was crazy. The season was already two weeks old. How can you prepare a team like that ? I would not mind but at the end of the previous season he acknowleged that the squad needed strengthening and promised the supporters he would.

I did seem a case of panic buying, but not as crazy as some transfers this season, especially one or two made by that team at the 'murky' end of the Mersey...laugh

But as you said, still along way off...eighteen points in fact.

cheers

Spurs losing at home to Norwich wow

Another win for Newcastle. It would be a good shout if Alan Pardew won Manager of the year.

vinny1967: Some great managers coming thru. Lambert, Rodgers and Brian McDermott to name 3.
Would love Wenger to sign one up for a year or two to act as assistant with a view to taking over. Probably never happen though

I'd like Fergie to do the same but he already has an assistant in Mike Phelan so its unlikely. I like Phelan but I can't see him taking over from Fergie when he retires. Now would be a good time to groom a good, young manager for the job though.

Has Wenger said he is going to retire soon? I know Pat Rice has said he is retiring soon so that could still happen at Arsenal. Although the likes of Lambert or Rodgers may not take a no.2 job at a top club. They might prefer being a manager in their own right at a smaller club.

Yeah this is the thing. I think it would be brilliant for a guy like Rodgers to work as an assistant to Fergie or Wenger for two years with a view to taking over all things going well.

Rice is retiring this summer and the most important signing Wenger will have to make is his assistant. Wenger needs someone at the club that will not agree with him all the time. He has not had that since Dein was ousted from the board. Bergkamp and Tony Adams are supposedly in the frame, either of which I would take in a heartbeat.

vinny1967: Yeah I wonder how much of it is the England job Jim. I persoanlly dont think Spurs have enough quality through their squad for the whole season and thought there would be a blip, not as bad as this I have to add

If Manager of the year was based on humility and class he would get my vote too
Pardew has to get manager of the year. What a job he's doing!

I'd like to see them finish fifth as I believe Arsenal and Spurs deserve it more. Even if Newcastle finish sixth, it would still be a hell of an achievement considering where they were last season.
