They say that there has never been so many people in Aus suffering from Depression in fact its nearly an epidemic.

WHY....To get started look at the media for instance Newspaper's and TV are the main culprits.
Every where you look is mayhem and misery the more the better.

I do not agree with reporting the continual pain of others ....like going into detail about how they feel all the time especially like the Danial Morcombe murder getting the parents to give press conferences draining every feeling they can out of them, its so cruel.

When those 8 children and relations were burnt to death in that house fire the mourners even stopped the search of the last two bodies so they could appear on TV to talk about their pain and grieving without a thought for those brave men and woman looking for them.....surely they could have done that when the last two bodies were retrieved.

I now feel guilty for even bring that up but why do the public want to see that ?

Remember Lady Di's death and funeral ! day in day out could not believe it.....people sobbing their eyes out ...Why for goodness sake she wasent a close friend or relative (mass hysteria)once again the herd syndrome.

And I have touched on only the tip of the iceburg.

What is it that is in lot of us to prefer bad news to good.????? also seeing people stop to look at an accident hoping to see a dead or maimed body.

Haven't we got enough to contend with without the brainwashing that goes on from the Media 24 hours a day.

Dont get me wrong! I just cannot understand it going on and on until something newer comes up,then the previous story is dropped like a hot potato leaving behind utter confusion sometimes.

The Media stated a long time ago that if it printed or showed much good news it would hardly sell a paper or get an audience.

confused confused dunno

Thats great that your son survived, you are so lucky. Yes it was a very bad time, still miss him terribly, always will. It will be 6 years in a month, still feels like yesterday. He was a great young man.

A good thread, The media ask, "How are you feeling" just after something tragic has happened. Geez, how do the hell ya think their feeling. they really ask some dumb questions.
When the flood happened here at murphys creek, we continually had media helicopters landing just across the road. You'd hear, "There's been another body found". Heart sinks. Army searched and searched our little creek, but it was local people who found, one up a tree, in a car. A little 6yr old from just up the road and her dad found 80km away. With this going on for so long, You didn't feel right, It's a small village, so we all went to he local tavern,It was all so overwhelming. My darling daughter of 13, was staying at friends at the time, so when she couldn't get in contact, we were reported missing. I was so frantic to get in touch with her to assure her we were safe, still bringing tears in my eyes. I hope i didn't ramble to much. It has brought our little village so much closer. hug

He was nearly 24 and it will be 6 years on September 28th. He was a Diabetic and he went to sleep and never woke up. He used to have silent Hypo's, no symptoms and l was warned it could happen 12 months earlier. I was sadly expecting that Policemans visit to happen. Daniel grew into such a caring, gentle young man and l am so proud to be his mum and always will be.
