RayfromUSA: I am a Christian and my faith influences what I do and think personally. But I agree with you that religion has no place in political spheres. When politics and religion mix, both get perverted. Some things belong to the government (Caesar) and other things belong to God. And it's a mistake to get them mixed up.
That doesn't mean politicians can't have faith. But as Jesus himself said, they should keep it to themselves to the point that their left hand doesn't even know what their right hand is doing. Not hiding their faith, but just keeping it to themselves and not imposing it on others.
I agree with what you said Ray, "that doesn't mean politicians can't have faith," but confusing a candidates religious bent in with their political ideologies is dangerous. Church and state should remain separate and not brought into the political arena, IMO.
Don't the DEM control the US Senate presently? Yes I do think that is the case.
President Obama placed a piece of job legislation so poorly drafted that even his own DEM rejected it.
Yet suddenly...in the media and in blogs.....it is the REP fault for the bills failure to pass. The job bill was failed by a joint vote of both parties. Neither DEM or REP wanted to spend billions more for a FED government approach to unemployment that has been falling to decrease unemployment.
DEM Senators realized that their jobs were on the line.....with this bill. Had they voted in another boon doggle and back door bill to support the Obama administration.....then voters would end their careers in 2012.

1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.
2. Congress (past, present &future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.
3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.
4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.
5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.
6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.
7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/12. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.

Bubbles begetting bubbles in ever widening circles and we can thank the players behind and within the banks who are pushing for a global economy for their profit convenience... they manipulate and buy governments, use our soldiers as their pawns... destroy entire societies, countries and peoples because they have no loyalty to any PLACE other than their bottom lines. And now you've even got the Catholic church getting in on the act (if they haven't always been). So much for the so called God fearing. mumbling
So you tell me, how much greed is enough greed? This is not just capitalism... but a global takeover that goes far beyond being ambitious and doing well for yourself... welcome to megalomania. roll eyes
You sure? Please provide some examples as I disagree with your contention.

You really need to get your head out the Dem/Rep mindset.... they no longer exist. The so called in-office Democrat NO LONGER EXISTS.. well except for maybe Bernie Sanders, the Democrat standing... and the Republicans have simply gone off the deep end... you know Bill Buckley would be rolling in his grave! Both parties have become lackeys of the global elite. Read Buffets solution, at least in our country above.

Your compulsive 'proof' thing is just a way for you to avoid seeing and thinking what's right before you eyes... and I don't really care what your delusions are.

I'm not the one saying entire peoples are being killed for profit with entire countries vanishing at the whim of some globalist - you are.
Now name them and provide the examples as seriously, you're full of it.

Pretty tough to come up with examples to support fatasy I imagine.

In the future, try to stick with reality rather than trumped up conspiracy and baseless left wing rhetoric.
and the Chief-Fiddler sits in the WH stuffing himself on Taxpayers expense! His Idea of a New Stimulus is as stale as the Old Idea was! Government CAN't create Jobs! It's very nature precludes it from such things!

its been the plan all along, buy up houses, rich get richer, blame it on dem prez, tryin to help folks/not lose their homes, its just too big for one man,one term or two.time will tell.
Mit, the next prez of the usa, is correct about letting the housing thing work its course. What other realistic option to we have? Let government buy-down mortgages? Baloney.... unless they also deposit a typical buy-down in my checking account for having a paid-off mortgage! Mit. R. is correct!
ooby_dooby: Now that each and every Senate Republican has vowed to block measures that would create jobs, President Obama is not going to wait for them to rebuild the economy and bring financial security back to the middle class.
Today, he announced new rules on federal mortgages to prevent more families from losing their homes to foreclosure. And that's just the beginning -- the President said he would continue to make the changes he can by executive action, while continuing to urge Congress to act on legislation to strengthen the economy and create jobs.
If Congress doesn't act, he will -- because millions of Americans can't just wait for Congress to do their jobs.
We're not just going to continue to wait -- and we'll be keeping up the pressure by making sure they're hearing from folks across the country every day about why they need to act.
Republicans in Congress have repeatedly filibustered the President's ideas to create jobs now -- ideas that until recently were supported by Republicans.
The President's action today also stands in stark contrast to the positions of the Republicans running for president. Mitt Romney even told a newspaper last week that we actually shouldn't act; we should let the housing crisis "run its course" and "hit the bottom" so that "investors" can come in and buy up these homes at cheap prices. He's saying to homeowners that they are on their own, forcing thousands of families to explain to their kids why they have to give up their homes. Doing nothing while families struggle: that's the opposite of what this president and this campaign stand for. President Obama isn't going to let Congress' inaction stop him from doing what he can right now.
So here's what the President's announcement means:
-- More families whose homes are under water will get help and save money on their monthly mortgage payment through the Home Affordable Refinance Programs.
-- If the value of your mortgage is $100,000 and your house is valued at $75,000, you previously weren't able to refinance to save your home -- forcing many families to pay higher interest rates. As a result of today's announcement, many more responsible homeowners will be able to lower their rates and pay their debts.
-- And this is just one of the incremental changes to come. Next, the President will announce new steps to help young people manage their federal student loan debt while they look for a job and get on their feet. He'll also take action to help small businesses and entrepreneurs, spur the engines of job growth, create new jobs, and assist veterans in finding them.
