as for the health issue for other passengers, 99% of smokers as soon as they light up the 1st thing they do is open a window nd the drive wind sucks out the air, not to mention the air-conditioner, so i reckon a car is probably a cleaner environment for a non smoker than any other place where they encounter smokers
as for the comment of most journey's being less than an hour, personally i have to go on regular journeys that take a lot longer than that and thats just to see my family, plus what about the professional drivers truckers etc that spend 50% of their week in their vehicles? yes i know smoking is bad for me, but its MY choice, i've never lit up one in a vehicle if there was non smokers aboard that objected to it, an outright ban is just ridiculous never mind as to how they plan to enforce it!!
Isnt that considered their workplace and banned already?
