when someone wants to accept islam he/she should declare Shahada, which says -- THERE IS NO GOD but only Allah, Muhammad (sW) is the last and final messenger from Allah. so the atheist people have done half of the job to become muslim by declaring THERE IS NO GOD. now just to accept the part " but only Allah, Muhammad (sW) is the last and final messenger from Allah."
most of the people who believe in God are doing blind belief - he is a Christian, because his father is a Christian; he is a Hindu, because his father is a Hindu; the majority of the people in the world are blindly following the religion of their fathers/mothers. An atheist, on the other hand, even though he may belong to a religious family, uses his intellect to deny the existence of God; what ever concept or qualities of God he may have learnt in his religion may not seem to be logical to him.
My first question to the atheist will be: "What is the definition of God?" For a person to say there is no God, he should know what is the meaning of God. If I hold a book and say that ‘this is a pen’, for the opposite person to say, ‘it is not a pen’, he should know what is the definition of a pen, even if he does not know nor is able to recognise or identify the object I am holding in my hand. For him to say this is not a pen, he should at least know what a pen means. Similarly for an atheist to say ‘there is no God’, he should at least know the concept of God. His concept of God would be derived from the surroundings in which he lives. The god that a large number of people worship has got human qualities - therefore he does not believe in such a god.
If you were confident in your position, you would have no fear of what people with dissenting points of view have to say. But a man who censors others opinions by hiding their posts is unsure of his beliefs and he can't take the risk of losing a debate on a subject that he claims to be expert in. The humiliation would be too great.

I think you are correct that most religious people just blindly follow what has been force fed for centuries out of fear instilled in them by religion from birth on for several thousand years or more. I think many muslims are no different. I looked at your link but I have no interest in reading all that. I did get the gist of your concept of God. The creator, the "absolute" eternal. Etc. The eternal, no beginning ,, no end. What is "absolute" about that? No size, no limits ?? It can't be,, yet it is. A total mystery. Atheists rightly reject the religious notion of a human like punishing God and all the crap that goes along with that. Yet they have no idea any more then religionists about what that mystery, eternity is. The real truth is that nobody knows what eternity or that mystery, is. And no one has ever known. And no one will ever know. We'd have to take the word of the person who claims to know and that would be to worship that person, not God. We exist in that mystery, the only true God who both exists and doesn't exist. That God, the mystery, does not need or want or require our worship. Does not get it's feelings hurt by anything we think or do. Does not condemn us for eternity. No heaven or hell after life, no proof of that whatsoever. Heaven is here on earth,, but there are some, notably religionists, who insist in making hell out of it.

And maybe he/she is just doing what the parents did. In other words made no real decision, just went along with how they were brought up. And what of the Muslim family that just accepts what they are taught just as you have depicted the Hindu, or any other belief as far as that goes. Why would one be any different?? The children may stay the same or be rebellious and seek out an opposite belief,, there are all kind of scenarios. Maybe they might become enlightened in a single moment at the age of 67! Or maybe never,,, who knows???? ;-}

mak_uits: again you are skipping the point, not trying to know the definition of God. you check how we define God and i'll prove he does exist
I looked at the link before, and thought it was a load of crap.
It's all words, written by man, exactly the same as the concept of ANY religion. Someone way back in history, smoked something a little bit dodgy, and came up with a strange idea to get lots of new friends.
It's the same as trying to prove Superman, Spiderman or even the Boogeyman exist.
venusenvy: Dude...I think your on the wrooooong site...Try "Fanatics R Us" or something
Y'know, Mak, hiding the posts you don't like doesn't really accomplish much. We can all still see them, so you just draw extra attention to them by trying to hide them.
I'm an atheist, and I can tell you, you're dead wrong about atheists. And about the nature and origin of religious belief in general. I recommend James Frazer's The Golden Bough, if you permit yourself reading other books.
And you OP blindly believe in Islam as your parents were muslims. Another thread of yours trying to "sell"religion. By the way your "prophet" never came in my dreams,Just for your INFO. All the holy religious books, have been written by humans, and humans can be mistaken in their writings,or how they interpreted the wishes of the "supposedly" God.Am sure the Quran does not say, that all muslims have to grow a beard, like you do,does it????
there are 1 billion muslims in the world.70% of them are uneducated. do you really think that the rest 5 billion people 9including biggest brains of our time)know less than u do?

bestbefore: if you should die and only saving of your life would be a surgery,,, would you ask a surgeon if he / she is an atheist? me not....
your thread is useless and harmful even. 10 useless believers for one atheist who makes good!!!!! Who will be in Heaven? Atheist. Accept that.
And do not forget to ban me from thread[/quote
I find your thread title a contradiction in terms.
How can you have experience of an Atheist if you yourself are a believer. You surely have to be an atheist yourself to undergo any experience.j.m.o.
sure, become believer after atheist approach is the best! For me I mean. I am not so strong to be an Atheist, but atheism taught me a lot. And I met many atheists I absolutely admire and love and many believer I despise and refuse to speak to. I am satisfied of have chance to face both experience
Never mind what you post to him Rummi, with blinkers on,can only see,one way,his way.-

no no,i m not trying to convince him that he is wrong by believing on his religion.no one can say that.if he is happy by believing what he is believing then its cool.but thinking that others wrong cos of they dont believe what he believe, then its ridiculous.
