Maybe so you can have easy access to mail your friends. But the idea is flawed, obviously, since most people have facebook, skype, msn and the like, so I'm guessing for the broader functionality of the site. Why anyone would send or accept friends request without knowing the person first, that I don't know.

I have eccepted before, ones i didn't know but now have deleted them. I do now understand the reason for it. Thanks.

me too, I have been wondering, what is the point??? I have also noticed that some guys will send a friend request when they don't meet your requirements as indicated in your profile.

I have wondered about that too. There is no point to it as far as I can see. Maybe some people like to have "trophy" friends to display to others: oh look at all the hot people who like me!

I think there are people that just use it like it was very likely to be used, To simply show you are "friends". I think that what has happened though, as I have gotten strange people sending friend requests. I think that some will try to get lots of friends to make them "look" or seem legitimate. Of course I have some friends and I don't think all people that send the request are insincere.

I realize this may be a bit simplistic for the more esoteric, but perhaps, by chance, the point of a friend request is to request to befriend someone.....

what doesn´t make sense to me is accepting friend requests from those who never interacted with me on the forums, videos or any other place on CS.

equiya: me too, I have been wondering, what is the point??? I have also noticed that some guys will send a friend request when they don't meet your requirements as indicated in your profile.
I figure this is precisely the reason - accepting friend requests allows those people to contact you when they wouldn't be able to otherwise as they are outside your selection criteria
