first thing they need to fix is that silly Ipswich motorway and then get some rail or busway down to Browns Plains.

Think they have fixes the Ipswich Motorway daggs???

Dunno I haven't ventured down there for about 5 yrs - the last time I thought I was not going to come out the other end alive motorcycle Scary as all hell.

Browns Plains? can't help you there.

Brisbane seems to be building more tunnels and toll ways that no one wants to use, should have poured all that money into better, free public transport. Easiest way to keep more cars off the roads. cool

Yes but the rest off us had insurance by our state government?
Except QLD! Who didn’t have the money to pay?

I don’t mind helping out other Aussies but when it’s the fault of state government that people don’t have a home after a disaster and the rest off the country have too pay? that’s sad!

You really should checkout the facts off the QLD governments past,

They live in a flood zone, the state government dropped the insurance for floods long ago! Due to droughts ?

Ok most brain dead people realize that the weather patterns in Australia and around the world happen in twelve year cycles! And not year to year,

By the time the QLD investigation is competed about the floods, they will find that the management of the dam were at full fault as the dam was made to stop the flooding? Who will be asked to pay the bill?

This whole flooding was human planed error! Too impose a carbon tax, the excess water could have been realest weeks before,

Now after all that money spent, they are having flooding again?

well qld deserves what they get, newman won his seat, best as i could tell the donations to the flood relief paid into the mayoral fund took long time to filter out to anyone that needed support to sort the flooded house problems if any...
seemed more worried about the yuppy bicycle pontoons that floated away and the flooded tunnel

Queensland Labor has been annihilated at the ballot box and will likely be left with just seven seats in the 89-seat parliament, the ABC says.

There are a lot in regional Qld who would disagree with that statement. It is because it is si hard to live in country qld that the message was sent loud and clear to both labor and the greens, in this election.

How about instead of trying to keep infrastructure up to a population that is growing impossible fast in density, we cap the population of the south east corner and decentralize? That was one of the few good ideas of the Whitlam federal Government.
