Hi Martia

I have used the corkscrew type, and it depends on the soil type and hardness as to how easy or hard it is. Clay soils if too dry are hard as rocks, but too wet and they are claggy and hard to turn and pull out the waste.

which ever, you will get a good shoulder work out!

I used to use them in the constuction of carports. All I did was hire one from one of the many hire places. If you hire it on friday then you returned it on the monday.

They are quite good, but you need to strike a pose so you don't twist your spine like a yoga contortionist.
