Hi Serene wave

I posted re wasps I had trouble with all this summer... they were paper wasps... they built their nest ... just hanging by a thread on a stem of a rose bush.. They are quite savage little devils.. and will attack.

Anyway, I avoided the bush for ages, after being stung several time..

In the end, we got the mortein, and my lighter, and as you press on the mortein you flick the lighter, and whoosh, the fire travels to the nest and burns them...

Seriously, It was the only way to destroy them.

But because its only a short burst it doesn't damage the bush... but it sure kills off the wasps, the nest fell to the ground.. and that got picked up and thrown in the bin..

Good luck with that... if you wish to try it... it sounds scarier than it is...

Bit gunshy after being stung merri sad flower

In fact, after I posted this earlier I went out to have a look and just one lonely wasp was hovering in the palm above the nest.

Just as I was thinking the rest of them had moved on without leaving him a forwarding address he started making his way towards me wow

Must be my perfume confused laugh

Seriously....a flamethrower?? And if a bloke had used a flamethrower to kill a poor little insect trying to protect his home, what would have been said

A bit of overkill when DDT could have done the job.

I have had a big nest near my door for years , always active when i look at it but have never had a sting or one land on me and i walk right under it multiple times a day. I don't want to mess with it i would hate to make them mad
