Nope, hate the over commercialisation of it, and the fact that a lot of people don't even know, realise, or care what they are 'celebrating'??
I send cards to family in UK but decided last year to tell other friends via email, FB that I would not be buying cards made in China, spending $1.65 on a stamp (o/s) instead I bought a gift for a needy person and put it under the Kmart tree??

Hmm yeah I feel like that about a lot of 'occasions', it's all about spending 100s or 1000s of dollars basically
But all that aside, I love the true spirit of Christmas, which is how my family celebrates it

Another year off the same, the new place is the perfect place off harmony, the kid and I are enjoying the stress free life, off home ownership! Well ok, the bank owns the home but they let us live in it?
Like every year, I can't wait to do the whole family thing that we always do. I LOVE every bit of it. But this year my boys are going away on boxing day and I just hope and wish that my ex does the right thing and spends some real quality time with them this time. That is my biggest wish this Christmas.

Again this year I have to work boxing day! Mums birthday? The day all the family get together, the best part is I get to finish work when I have done my round, and then I get to go home, at full pay, last year I was sitting at mums kitchen table by one o’clock , drinking beer, I made the point off telling my two brothers that I was getting more than $58 per hour to drink with them, as I don’t finish work till 4pm most days, this year will be extra good, as the kids got her licence! So she can drive, on P plates instead off L plates like last year, s I can get plastered

Me too call me old fashion but I like to send cards to friends and family maybe because all my family re- brother sisters -cousins etc! all live in the eastern states so it's my way of saying happy Xmas to everyone as too many ph calls can be expensive.
As for my immediate family here in the west love to spend Xmas with them I am not religous at all as you all should be aware of by now but like Xmas as an excuse to spend with family under same roof. For my kids and close friends I always buy them a nice special card. usually funny ones

hahaha. You're a shocker. I have to agree though. We do alot of driving on Christmas Day and a few years ago I got a lift as of the afternoon and boy did I make the most of it...hehe.
I am hoping for a peaceful end to a crazy year!! I have had a lot of firsts this year and hopefully a few lasts. 
I had never been overseas and have now been to Thailand and China, and Malaysia too if you count a stopover, lol, bought my first brand new car and been involved in 2 armed hold ups.
All in all it has been a great year but as Lillee said, someone to love would top it all off nicely.

um........no advertising christmas until the week before?good food, family and a sleep in the afternoon.......enough leftovers so dont have to cook for a couple of days

It's been good because I got to taste some Indian food, and interesting to know how its celebrated.... much like our christmas, gift giving, prayers etc..
As for what I yearn for....
I'm a material girl, so I want lotsa a things..
I doubt very much I'll find a brand new car in my driveway tho...
and
a gorgeous guy to go with it...
Never mind... health is good..
that will do for a start.

Know my kids will get me something I really need, new books would be good. But just to see them is enough for me.
But not a material guy, hate sewing
and have enough cars in the place as it is and defintely would not want someone else driving them for me. So good health would keep me happy - has been a crook year for me so should be better next year. Better to be optimistic than pessimistic.
