The usual Hollywood-inspired assumption is that the army would side with the establishment against the people, and that the elites are an evil and all-knowing godhead behind a giant conspiracy as opposed to the greedy, self-interested and often incompetent worms that they are.

I am very tired of all the sanctimonious BS about the US constitution. Simply because something is 'gauranteed' within any agreement does not make it right or appropriate for any given timeframe and any constitution is open to modification.
Face it. The US constitution sucks a big one on several fronts. The second ammendment clearly being the elephant in the room.
Wake up America. Revise your constituion. Have the guts (and the heart) to change with the times and protect future generations. Anyone who fails to support significant gun control measures now is 100% complicit in future massacres of the innocent.
Or don't listen to me and carry on killing your compatriots and yourselves. Your choice.
