I don't support stricter gun laws, I want stricter sentences for CRIMINALS, and I want the prison systems here to be ugly. Ugly I mean as in you don't want to ever go back in. Take a look at where all the mass shootings take place.. in a GUN FREE ZONE. Who does the killing a PSYCHO with a motive. All these attacks were planned out. There should be a law here, if you don't like guns, you are required to post in your front window a sign that says, Homeowner doesn't believe in guns. how many people would do that? Would you?

CHOLENA: I've also lived in the Middle East. Never needed or felt the need for a gun for self protection. Only people who are paranoid and who are delusional and watch too much televison and 'action' movies think they need a gun for personal protection.

As the matter of fact, I don`t carry any weapon, but I do own a registered pistol which I keep at home, Cant remember when I took it the last time in my hand to clean it,not to mention to shoot it , so much about being paranoid...
As for killing another human being in self defense or otherwise ,guess what we do when we`re sent overboard to " protect peace" and serve our country ( Making some fat rat richer) ...
Now how about banning public transportation , as they also kill people oh and whats your opinion on martial Arts???

I hate any kind of violence ,war included.
As for the play on words ,this thread is about "guns" and basically being allowed to own them, and keep them in the home,not other killing machines. Or have I misinterpreted the O.P.

Don't you think it's about time the Americans had their own forum. This is an international forum and many people have left because they are fed up with the American obsession with killing and guns. It's not our problem. and most people couldn't care less whether you have guns or not

These examples mean little, very little. They only show what the extremist minority think. If gun control laws were put to a national vote, the majority, who are for more gun control, would out vote the minority who do not want any restrictions put on gun ownership.

Americas prisons are already over populated. People who commit mass murders already spend their lives in prison or are executed. There are mentally ill people out there all over the place who can get a hold of a gun and kill dozens of people in moments. If they couldn't get a gun, they couldnt' do it. Thing is if you come into an International Forum and ask a question,you should accept that people's views will vary. That's why the Forums are so diverse.

Did you even read what I wrote? Your post is hilarious. I did not say there was no crime. I said there is no need for the average person to carry a weapon for self protection, especially not a gun. I did not say there is not crime or that we don't need locks or alarms or cameras monitoring public places. In fact, it is prudence in your behavior that makes it unnecesssary to carry a weapon, as well as depending on the police force and law enforcement. Maybe in central Croatia you need a gun? Don't know. But I've been in all of Western Europe, parts of Eastern Europe, North America, Asia, Asia Minor, and North Africa and have not ever needed to carry a weapon for self protection.
