joyaepace: How do you guard people with guns? Any shooting on the streets has a potential of killing somebody innocent by error. As I posted before, it would make sense to arm police with something that incapacitates the perpetrator rather than kills. Shoot some paralyzing stuff at them and arrest. The real firearms are crazy thing to carry around in civilian areas. It is not a war time now!
Well, you won't like hearing this, but a lot of LEOs here are required to use bullets that are intended to tumble around inside a human body instead of leaving it. This type ballistic also prevents bullets they use from penetrating walls too. Now a miss and a ricocheted bullet can and will be a problem where an innocent bi-stander might be hit. The criminal causes more harm and needs to be put down if s/he's drawn a weapon.

TTom50: I have often gone to the local computer lab at the library. At the end of the school day.....groups of high school boys come into the lab and take computer. They all play 'warcrafter'.
The problem is they get so focused into playing the game. Military fire arm training is so much different that how these boys are being trained on "war crafter". They go into thier own little world. There is no adult supervision. Military weapons training is just the opposite.
You have a adult supervisor, actually many trainers watching the firing line. But more importantly, the solider has been given a number of warnings on how to use the weapon and range. Safety is stressed. Here in the computer labs, they get none of that.
Most of them get the '1000 yard stare' in a hour of game play. They cannot even close and blink their eyes. That is a serious mental disorder, we were taught to look for in the military when training with weapons.
You read the crime reports on Holmes, Loughner and Lanza....they say they were like auto men....no eye blinking....just the stare. No remorse or no compassion. They have dehumanized the victims. We know all three played computer games for hours.....
Misposted last time! These symptoms of lack of remorse and compassion and bland stare are a sign of a psychopath. Some of the killers were diagnosed psychopaths. But it is interesting that the war game players get that stare after playing for long time. May be there is some temporary psychopathic type change in their brains?

I think that they(psychologist and the academia) are doing psychological testing on the effects of prolonged game playing. Here is a blog by a game player on the topic.
So happens when this goes to Congress and you have a public hearing on if computer gaming is harmful....Congress hears a pro and con. Which leave the door open for weak legislation on the issue. Congress does not want to regulate the gaming industry that pays a lot of corporate taxes. It needs solid scientific evidence of the harm that computer games do. When it get a pro and con to the issue....it will normally write weak legislation.

Then let the Legislation go thru the proper channels, ie Congress and Senate and then be signed by the President as it is supposed to be done. Not by Executive Order.
There is much more as risk for the future that we are concerned about and upholding the Constitution is the main concern.
You must gain understanding on laws and how they work. Once a Bill becomes Law, it then holds prescidence to pass other Laws in the Future. It won't just stop with only 1 Law being passed.
For one thing, these Laws must be set in place at the STATE level, NOT Federal, unless the People request it and it goes before the House and Congress.
There is a method to the madness and it needs to follow suite.
I have the ultimate trade: The entire Obama family, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Al gore, Bill and Hillary Clinton, and the rest of the Obama Administration to China and they can wipe out 95% of the debt we owe them! Sounds Fair to me, Has anyone figured out that Obama is from Kenya, I mean hell, he is making the USA into it. Sarcasm Off.

Texan Eric Reed, founder and national coordinator of the “Guns Across America” rallies, told WND he’s irritated about all the talk of new gun-control regulations and overreach by the federal government in violation of our Second Amendment rights.
“I was trying to figure out why people weren’t being more proactive about this, Reed said. “Then I realized I’m part of the problem. It takes somebody to stand up and say, ‘Hey, we’re not going to accept this. We’re against it.’
“We want Americans who feel the same way to come out. We want to stand up, be united and get our point across.”
So far, gun-rights advocates from at least 47 states are participating. All rallies begin at 12 p.m. local time:
Alabama Alaska – organizer still needed Arizona Arkansas California Colorado Connecticut Delaware Florida (This event is located in Hernando County to accommodate more people.) Georgia Hawaii Idaho Illinois Indiana Iowa Kansas Kentucky Louisiana Maine Maryland Massachusetts Michigan Minnesota Mississippi Missouri Montana Nebraska Nevada New Hampshire New Jersey – organizer still needed New Mexico New York North Carolina North Dakota Ohio Oklahoma Oregon Pennsylvania Rhode Island South Carolina South Dakota Tennessee Texas Utah Vermont (This event will take place at the Burlington Expo Center.) CHOLENA: OP, IT ISN'T THE STATES THAT ARE AGAINST GUN LAWS, IT IS CERTAIN PEOPLE IN THOSE STATES! You have complete tunnel vision.
Statistics from the past and currently all the polls PROVE THAT THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS WANT STRICTER GUN CONTROL LAWS.
You are living in your own fantasy world.
Hermann Goering “Why of course the people don't want war. Why should some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece? Naturally the common people don't want war: neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But after all it is the leaders of a country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy or fascist dictatorship, or a parliament or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peace makers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.”
My point here is ,Its not that difficult to manipulate the masses
The need for self protection is real ,thats reality, thats the world we`re living it

Point one: Actually, it is the people who are being manipulated into paranoia and think they all need guns who are the "masses" being manipulated.
Point two: Is is not true in most places in the world, especially in the modern Western world, that the average person needs a gun for self protection. I've lived on 4 continents and traveled extensively around the world. Never needed or wanted any kind of weapon for self defense.
It's a lie, a lie of paranoia that makes people think they need guns to protect themselves. Statistics show that a gun makes you less safe than more safe. People with guns are more likely to be hurt by a family member or to hurt themselves or another family member than to protect themselves against crime.
Did you even read what I wrote? Your post is hilarious. I did not say there was no crime. I said there is no need for the average person to carry a weapon for self protection, especially not a gun. I did not say there is not crime or that we don't need locks or alarms or cameras monitoring public places. In fact, it is prudence in your behavior that makes it unnecesssary to carry a weapon, as well as depending on the police force and law enforcement. Maybe in central Croatia you need a gun? Don't know. But I've been in all of Western Europe, parts of Eastern Europe, North America, Asia, Asia Minor, and North Africa and have not ever needed to carry a weapon for self protection.
I've also lived in the Middle East. Never needed or felt the need for a gun for self protection. Only people who are paranoid and who are delusional and watch too much televison and 'action' movies think they need a gun for personal protection.
