Rbjustme: Yes..I Know, I thought, and it's just my thoughts, that she handled the crisis very well, but I wasn't a Queensland resident.

She did Rb no doubt about that - but I can't help feeling a lot of it was 'photo opps' or just good PR? confused

After all she is a politician? australia

I figured that but still the vote should have been in the interest of the state over political sides. frustrated

Yes, who knows these days and I really can't comment to much as I did not live in your state. As you say she is/was a politician, and PR plays a big roll with voters, which is wrong, but people are vulnerable to this sort of thing and the politicians see it as a way to gain votes instead of policies.smile

I think the media has a lot to do with swaying voters, people are vulnerable, to all sorts of media persuasion?

Qld did very well under the gerry mander system of Jo B-K where the whole state was truly represented, not just the majority of people who lived in the small section of Brisbane and the Gold Retiree Coast.

If you look back to pre-Whitlam days, Qld had totally free medicare and a lot of infrastructure paid by paid by the mining companies. And the education system was ahead in so many ways.

But we have had "progress" in so many ways since Uncle Jo and his doubtfull form of Govt was kicked out.

We have had strong winds on the GC for days. How come there is such a huge distance between Sydney/GC yet those winds seem to be all down the East Coast?

Love it at the moment, could handle this all summer wave

Apparently they are forecasting strong winds again here in Vic, 100kmh. I was driving back from a small show I did for the elderly this afternoon and had to slow down to a crawl.... an.."Australian crawl".. Good name for a band?? rolling on the floor laughing due to a hail storm.
