Ok, time to get serious. His theory is probably correct for the dimension that we exist in because I don't think that light holds the cosmic / universal speed limit.

Can we cut to the chase and do Einstein for Dummies

RDM59: Yes they work. I believe the effect of gravity on time is calculated and catered for.
Triangulation, distance, time pretty well sums up the GPS
The reason why I started this topic, lately few people commented that Einstein’s theory of relativity is wrong, yet they could not explain how they came to the conclusion.

Well let's hope this 51 page thesis can throw some light on it all.
AgentAjax: Does anyone on here really understand the equation?
Yeah I know anyone can google but the question is do you understand what it actually implies ?
To quote Einstein himself. "When you are courting a nice girl an hour seems like a second. When you sit on a red-hot cinder a second seems like an hour. That's relativity."

Which equation? His Theories of Relativity, (there is two, Special Relativity and General Relativity) have many equations. When you study Relativity they'll teach you Special Relativity first as it's easier to understand.
Anyway, the centrepiece of Einstein's theory resolves around the original postulation of a constant speed of light in all frames of reference. This was a mighty thing to consider. Because to consider that it also means that in Electro Mechanical Radiation, the electrical field strength is proportional to it's related magnetic field strength by a factor equivalent to the constant speed of light.
IN so much of science since, the value of the speed of light is such an important constant.
The other way to look at it... really is that the constant that relates Electric and Magnetic fields dictates the speed of light, and therefore ALL electromagnetic radiation.
I would wager to say that in a relative way Sigmund Freud was more hung up on the idea of mother/daughter father/son relationship. Likewise, how a family who plays together stays together so to speak. As for Einstein his theory has met up with much debate since understanding dark matter and string theory. However, if there is one constant in the universe is the propensity towards stupidity ignorance and evil in the world.

Sometimes, Sid, I think your mind is faster than when universe expanded at the Big Bang, which was faster than the speed of light is known to be, today.
This can only be possible because all three, you, Big Bang and speed of light, have to operate in a vacuum.

Well now, Guido, if Stephen Hawking is correct there is nothing outside of the Singularity that existed before the Big Bang occurred. and when I mean nothing, I mean even less than a vacuum. No space, nor time. English is not sufficient to relate how utterly devoid of anything that nothing means.

Therefore, more pepperoni.
Oh well, sound can't exist (especially a Big Bang) in a vacuum anyways.

As I understand it, proving a mathematical relationship between the mass (weight of a particle when expressed as an electrical potential, as at this scale mass and energy are the same thing) and the speed at which it travels allowed the limits of size for very fast particles to be proven.
This opened the way for experiments to prove the existence of various rare particles normally only seen inside stars (Higgs Boson, etc) as their exact physical parameters could be calculated without knowing if they existed, and knowing this data they could then be searched for. If they were found (and in the case of the Higgs, it has) then fundamental laws of the universe & of the nature of existence itself which were suspected to exist are confirmed.
E=MC Squared was a key that unlocked understanding of the universe itself. Its also the lock that restrains us from leaving our solar system as ships travelling through conventional space must be confined to the same realms of possibility in terms of maximum speed
In other words, until a reactor can be used to open a hole in space-time and bridge 2 remote locations via a stable wormhole, we're stuck.
