I use Myers Briggs personality types for hiring process. it is not the final “tool”, but it is a good “preference tool”. i

the biggest benefit of the MBTI is that it does help understand someone´s strengths and why they reacted in a certain way in a situation. but more important it can help everyone.

doing the test in the net brings a problem that is most of the people will change the answer to fit some stereotype they believe or want to fit, by answering the questions differently. but not in a hiring process, as it is in a “time clock”.

I am not saying that the MBTI is THE truth, but a little knowledge is a not “dangerous” thing..... or maybe it is.

It's interesting how I scored differently in the basic test as compared to a more detailed test. The basic test resulted as INFP but when I used a different version with over 60 questions, I got ISFJ
Introvert(89%) Sensing(50%) Feeling(50%) Judging(56%)

You have strong preference of Introversion over Extraversion (89%)
You have moderate preference of Sensing over Intuition (50%)
You have moderate preference of Feeling over Thinking (50%)
You have moderate preference of Judging over Perceiving (56%)

This is the site link with the specific questions...

I actually peeked in personal employee dossier this morning to find these results. I've been meaning to do this since this thread came up, but kept forgetting. This was the one I took when I was being considered for hire here at my current workplace.

Hiya Jo wave I wonder if results change as we grow through life experiences and the results we get today are a reflection of our perception of the here and now for us? All in all, it's interesting to see changes.

2intrigued: Really Jac? Why were the questions unanswerable for you?

For example, question 14 from the link you cited:

"You prefer to act immediately rather than speculate
about various options"

Are we talking about how to deal with a difficult situation with a friend, or if the chip pan catches fire?

The questions are context dependent. They might be more answerable if there was a Likert scale, but not appropriate for yes/no answers.

LadyDiz: Famous INTP types like myself
Abraham Lincoln
Albert Einstein
Charles Darwin
Emmanuel Kant
Richard Dawkins
Marie Curie
Thomas Aquinas
John Locke
Renee Descartes

I think I have slightly better examples to live up to than you, MD

This is the first time I've heard of this test, and took it out of curiosity. Alas! moping I think I belong in the worse category. Famous ISFJs types like myself:
George H.W. Bush
Mitt Romney
Heinrich Himmler
Wilhelm Keitel
Francisco Franco
Kim Kardashian
It's a good thing Mother Teresa was somewhere squeezed in that list to save the day! rolling on the floor laughing

It was quite interesting though.

Thanks JJ for initiating this for us. Good to see you again mate, your absence was noticed. I hope whatever kept you away is now beyond you... hug

Yeah, I do know what you mean and I struggled with this a bit too...part of being analytical I suppose. laugh Well, I answered the questions based on everyday interactions/relationships leaving out the concept of immediate response situations of emergency. laugh
