I know it's stereotypical that the Irish are a bit dimwitted (UK peoples will know what I mean), but to have it on the wrong day, really doesn't help the tide away from that stereotype

"Olympic gold medalist Katie Taylor will be the Grand Marshal for the 2014 St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The 27-year-old Irish boxer is the current Irish, European, World and Olympic Champion."

The stereotype is based in a certain amount of truth unfortunately.If Irish people could vote on when best to hold St.Paddy's Day,most would answer "every weekend".
