Is it possible to edit a sent email or delete it before it's opened? I'm sure we've all written things when in one particular mood only to regret it after your mood changes and you've had time to rethink what you wrote.

Isn't this possibility kind of like farting in a crowded elevator, or voting and hitting 'submit'.... I mean, once it's out there. You know..... help laugh

Depends on which email software you use, thunderbird has an edit feature I believe, but standard software such as outlook or gmail/hotmail etc not at this time.

There are company's that offer this service. Long ago I looked at a service and it had cost. I can't remember what was being charged.

In simple terms its done by sending a web page with the typed message on it (it looks like any email which is send)...but like a web page...what is written can be edited or deleted.

In all my years of using a computer I've never heard of being able to edit a email once it's been sent.

Is there any way to edit our posts in the messages on the forum? There's been a few times where I had a grammatical error and would have liked to correct them.

It does not "sit well" with me. But its possible to do, however you will have to sign up for the service and have an email address from the company offering this service (with an attached cost).

Check you know the domain part of the email when you receive an email if you think the email maybe "dodgy" but then they can fake that too.

You can't do this kind of thing with the usual emails people usually use, like gmail, yahoo etc.

The admin could allow this, either for 24 hours after the post has been made, always, or for "approved" users only. But it looks like none of this has been made available.

Unfortunately the only avenue open to us after hitting the send button is a follow up email that says "oops" and then the correction dunno

Yes your right with the personal email your using. But if you want to edit emails as a matter of fact and frequently, then there are services available away from your current email.

No. Once you hit send, it's there.

It's then time to suck up and send the apology mail.

What would make someone "approved"? How long they've been on the site, how many posts they have?
That would be a disaster. People would write something to flame someone, then once the person reacts, they would edit the post to make it look like they were attacked.

If a mistake is made, just quote it and point out what you meant to say.

laugh I think we've all been there at some point. No, once you hit send, it's gone. It would be possible if you had your own webserver, but methinks you don't. All that's left is to send another and apologize laugh
