bungallow55: the first time, some republican called him a lair
interrupting his speech, last night, when he said, no more for me
some shouted and applauded to his final speech as a president
and the woman or governor from Arizona pointing her finger on his
face instead of giving him a welcome
No one is above criticism. If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. Applause for his leaving office just reflects his popularity today; which is something he ignores while he believes his vision of America's direction is our vision. He has some good ideas, but his priorities have always been wrong imo.
The SOTU speech hasn't been what it was intended for in a long time. Last night's SOTU was all bloviating and intended to do nothing but help position the next democrat president.

Ccincy: I didn't watch his mess whatever it was a bout.It would have been more fun watching paint dry.
Way to go CC.....
That was a good one.... watching paint dry... I'm with ya....
I normally, leave the TV on, just to have some background noise, but during his "Again BS" I even changed it... did want to hear all the lies over, and over again.
He kept saying something about "working with the new Congress, and practically, within the same breath, talking about certain bills that come across his desk, will GET HIS VETO"!!! Now, tell me if that is working with the new Congress, or is that being a 3 year old, because he can't get/have his way? Somebody needs to whip that ars, give him some damn "time out"...
OK, I know, when I get started on him... I don't know where the "hand brakes" are, to stop... So, I will shut up, and turn the "soapbox" back over to someone else. You have a good day, CC... it's always good to read your comments... "You Go Girl"....
bungallow55: no, no, so republicans applauded when he said
I won't be on campaigned next elections
.
President Obama's approval rating is 41%. He outlined a world he wishes we were in, far from reality. He's living in a fantasy land, especially when it comes to Isis and foreign policy, period. He's trying to sell stuff that isn't true.
Some would say he speaks out right lies, which deserves reticule for thinking we're all dumb asses going to believe him anymore. He was taunting republicans, a bit confrontational and Super arrogant. It was a boring flat bad speech.

Ooops! Typo!! Should have been "DIDN'T" want to hear.......
galrads: Evidently, a lot of Americans weren't when they voted for Obama. I drank the cool-aid voting for him once knowing he had no real job experience that qualified him to be President, imo.
I doubt if they've ever concerned about a political figures job performance.

Most U.S. presidents, since our constitution was adopted, either had prior leadership jobs/positions with responsibility such as in the military or as governor, Vice President, etc.

Well, I'm glad someone else knew their qualifications. I wonder what the qualifications were for the first 8 presidents of the USA before G. Washington?

I'd have to dig up my High School teachers to answer that question.

Heck,O'Bama was a Community-Organizer in Chi-Town!
JeanKimberley: I think sometimes the world is right about Americans when they say we don't know much about ourselves or our geography. We are woefully politically and socially ignorant as to how things get done in America.
It is not about private enterprise or private businesses. We have major institutions that operate in very successful ways. and yet some many of us are stupid when it comes to how our government works to address the needs of the people.
and our media is plays upon our fears and gives us extreme and extra ordinary examples that play on the myths about us. If you look at the 308 million of us..... you are bound to find crazy stories about what does not work in America. but if you look at most of us....
we want to prosper - so lets look at the policy changes that are being proposed. Let's ask congress to get off their bickering backsides and work.
