There is no ideal way. It depend from person to person, and then again from partner to partner. If it involves traveling long distances the chances aren't very good. She/He might visit once.

Personally i wouldn't date anyone further than, let's say, 20 miles from my home.. There is enough single ladies in London of all nationalities to look elsewhere, besides the further you venture the more chance there is to encounter a scammer.

I could not afford to travel to meet him for almost two and a half years I saved up.. But when I did!

He'd have to move here, only after visiting and meeting(spending time together) and plenty of skype sessions.
For me personally, I'm unable to re-locate due to family commitments here.
It's too much to ask of anyone. I'm happy to be here for the forums only.
For others, if you're both committed to being together it's not totally out of the question, but requires a lot of trust and patience.
