annaroach: Spent some time in London recently, and having visited some of the eating and drinking
establishments in the city, i found the male staff very flirty, which was nice.

I was invited to an event at the House of Lords, and also found the very good looking male staff to be the same.

Needles to say , i enjoyed it so much, the more i responded, the more they came back to chat.

After the event,, we got a tour of the building,, and out of about 50 people , i was chosen by the
tour guide to be the queen for the evening,,,, ....... and me being the only paddy in the crowd,
all the rest were English,, that gave me a good laugh..

So do you like flirty staff?,.... are you flirty staff ?,, haven't noticed it so much here.

Do you want to share any nice experiences,,,, these guys were somewhat younger than me

I can remember back in the 70's and even in the 60's though I did not get it at the time. But there was a certain flirtation that was acceptable and I don't mean in a way where it was demeaning as both parties seemed to be having fun and seemed to make the event go in a nice way. It typically was not anything sneaky but more of a compliment from what I observed. Of course as time went on, at least in a lot of places it was just a way to get someone mad or it was like it became taboo. We may have gained a lot of things in our technical new world but I think we have also lost a certain flair that is now taken completely in the wrong light. I am glad that while in London you had such a great time and that there are still some places to feel good and be yourself. I have been a Hairdresser for since the late 70's so it was a huge part of our industry. And for me being a straight Male Hairdresser I was definitely in my own niche. I have to admit that I have seen quite a few changes in our industry and the Entertainment and Dining world as well. Though I have been to Ireland a few times I have only been in the Heathrow airport and I would not judge the UK on that alone....in fact i choose not to judge countries or groups of people at all as I know that there are always going to be someone that has their own special way of doing things and I would not want to miss that chance to maybe have such a fun time as you did in your event Anna.

I suppose really ,it is someone in their job, trying to be nice to others and making them feel at ease and
comfortable ,, as they are there for a visit and it is nice that someone is interested in their job enough to make an effort to make them want to come back., it is a gift really, and the reason i mentioned it is,, that all ,without exception were pleasant and charming and really made a difference to my visit.

Part of their job ,i suppose, but some do and some don't, and it;s the ones that do, that we remember.

Oh definitely, and I really miss the days when that flow just made things a lot more fun and even put you at ease and kinda special. LOL... I was very small back in the 60's but I spent time with my father and his associates in a lot of business lunches that the coffee poured and they wrote out plans on the paper napkins and a lot of these were pretty high dollar deals that were going down and I know for sure that the way the Waitress (or whatever is PC these days) and he played off of each other had a huge effect on the whole table. I enjoyed it, and I gotta say there was a whole different atmosphere when people didn't have their heads ducked down into the cell phone or ipad. lol

I think i just found a lovely buzz around the eating /drinking establishments in London.

I even found where it was busy elsewhere , tubes, streets etc, when people made eye contact with me
and i smiled at them, they responded nicely,, i know it isn't the " Done " thing there, but i did it , and realised people are nice , and just human. He who dares wins.wave
