secretagent09: My mother had an appointment with her doctor. I don't remember why but I went with her to the appointment. She had about 30 extra pounds hanging on her but it didn't look bad cause she was 6'1".

The doctor checked her out and then said you need to lose some weight.

This guy had nerves of steel. He was close to 400 pounds and he's telling her to lose weight
He's job is to care for patients with the truth..That's like saying over weight people can't attend the gym because we only cater for those who are fit.

Well just because ones practitioner is over weight why would one say to themselves if it's okay for him it's okay for me..Can't get my head around that when it means dropping dead from a heart attack or some other ailment connected with ones weight.

I agree, his job is to care for patients.

But it's like calling the kettle black when he himself is overweight.

You're misunderstanding what I'm saying. In no way did my mother or I think that if he's overweight than it's okay for my mother to be overweight. I never implied that.

What I'm saying is, being that he was so overweight I think he should have been softer in the way he said she should lose a few pounds.

Yeah; one of the doctors I had as a kid in high school smoked a pipe. Of all the people who should be setting an example, it should be a doctor not smoking.

I guess it's like that old saying............." Do as I say, not as I do." scold dunno thumbs down

When you were a kid, doctors were still doing advertising for cigarettes as being healthy. laugh

Funny how throwing some money at a "professional" can get them to say whatever you want. Much like how climate change "science" is now. roll eyes
