Deedee123x: Did i??.
No i think i assumed that starting a thread like this might lead to arguements between some Irish and English here...not necessarily in a bad way....more of a ribbing way.

I dont believe i assumed that you yourself hated them.

so you still never gave you're opinion of the English ...............forget it..........

Unsure of where your flippancy is coming from.
Ive answered the question.
Why dont you lead with what you think the difference is between the Irish and English to give people an idea of what way you expect the thread to be taken.

"History" is the BEST fiction EVER written! liar scold professor

History

And what is history
If not
That body of tall tales
We tell
To justify our actions
Or celebrate
Our survival

galrads: History is history..

Yeah! You're right, Galrads! History IS history! It got lost in the shuffle! The only problem WITH history, is that NONE of us KNOW history! We just THINK we do! If you believe the junk they feed you, in school, or even what you read and/or see in documentaries (CURRENT history), you're ONLY fooling YOURSELF! Even EYEWITNESSES are UNRELIABLE witnesses! Ask ANY cop, who the WORST witnesses are! And he'll tell you "Eyewitnesses"! You can have 28 eyewitnesses to an event, and what you'll get reported is 28 DIFFERENT, sometimes even CONTRADICTORY, events! So your post that "History IS history" is specious, at best! Just saying! cheers

An Englishman, a Frenchman and an Irishman were in a pub talking about their children.

'My son was born on St George's Day, 'remarked the Englishman, 'So we obviously decided to call him George.'

'That's a real coincidence', observed the Frenchman', My daughter was born on Valentine's Day, so we decided to call her Valentine.'

'That's really incredible', drawled the Irishman, 'Exactly the same thing happened with my son Pancake.'

An Englishman, an Irishman and a Scotsman were taking part in a survey about tea-drinking habits.

'I always stir my tea with my left hand,' said The Englishman.

'I always stir my tea with my right hand,' said The Scotsman.

How about you?' the Irishman was asked.

'Oh me?' said the Irishman, 'I always use a spoon.'

KremaP: Without exaggeration, every second Irish person I've met in my life haven't waited long in a conversation before throwing some insults against the English... Same with Scottish, even in front of (ex) my English partner and my son...

Tru & Gal pretty much answered your post with the exception of Gals remark about the schools & churches. That needs verification
.
"I never heard that from the English" - I'm assuming primary school kids in England weren't taught the history of their forefathers actions in other countries, whereas Irish kids learned Irish history.

the only thing I know about Ireland is that Irish are lovely and beautiful people and Ireland is a beautiful country .

For UK , London has a great history as well as it has great services in the medical sciences , the best of knowledge the English historian and archaeologist have great achievements in the Egyptian findings .so the English are also well familiar with history .wine handshake
