Harbal: I wouldn't say I'm an innocent but it does sometimes take me longer than most to twig on to certain things. One such instance of this that comes to mind would be the case of the term, "friends with benefits". I must have heard the expression countless times but either didn't give it much thought or just assumed it meant a mate who had the necessary skills to fix your car or who would look after the dog when you went on holiday. Once I became aware of what the phrase actually did mean, it set me off thinking. I wonder how many other kinds of people can come with benefits. For instance, do people have a cleaner with benefits, or is there such a thing as a carer for the elderly with benefits? I don't know, so the purpose of this thread is to provide me with the benefit enlightenment.
First of all, I have never liked the term "FWB". It is a step in the wrong direction to be shallow with people's intimacy. Second, lets not compare apples to nails, shall we? Employment of any kind, and especially health care, is off-limits to fraternizing. (I don't even really like the idea of people getting together after work very much. Yes, I've done it, pubs, cafes, etc...but I really believe in these following sayings"

1. Don't dip your pen into the company inkwell.
2. Don't get out the lead where you bake your bread.
3. Never til sod where you grease the rod. (don't go there......it's a reference to the mechanic!laugh )

It doesn't seem to have deterred you from reading my post.

rohaan: It is a step in the wrong direction to be shallow with people's intimacy.

Isn't that for the benefitting friends to decide?

rohaan: lets not compare apples to nails, shall we?

Okay, rohaan, I won't if you don't.

rohaan: I don't even really like the idea of people getting together after work very much.

I don't imagine they do it to please you.

If you're trying to cause social unrest, Miwagi, couldn't you do it in your own country where you will have to live with the consequences.
