pedro27: what I really meant is don't trust everyone on a internet forum
That was my first thought over this when inviting someone you have never met to stay in your house.

Inthecountryside: That was my first thought...
Thanks Guys for the concern.

I tend to be on the courageous side. I don’t let the “What if’s” sideline me.

How do I put it...? I’ve only gotten notices from people who can’t make it.

And as someone has said... most of the people here have a difficilt time leaving their laptops..much less their country.

(Whereas, I have traveled numerous times!!!)

I don’t expect a crowd. yawn

But that’s “The Beauty of Not Knowing!”

And I know how difficult it is to be alone for the holidays.

So, I threw caution to the wind and offered the invite!

If anything, it just shows my character... I’m open and always have a warm, comfortable fire by which to sit and chat.

Kaylana04: Here's an warm invite to those who are looking for a simple winter get-away!
Riga, Latvia!!!

Evenings can be spent at my house sipping hot, spiced wine by the fireplace swapping stories and tall tales.

Days spent exploring Riga or Jurmala or just lounging by the fire reading a book.
Healthy food. Relaxing atmosphere. Invigorating conversation.

Bring your winter coat and snow boots. Wool socks are available...
(Heck, I could make you a pair while you are here!)

Ryanair flights post-Christmas are around 150 euros. Return to Stansted after New Year's are around 50 euros.
(Disclaimer: Cats roam the house. A dog lives outside. You must provide evidence of your sanity and not be a lunatic!)
It was on the list.
i didn't book a ticket yet.
But still you are the sweetest.
greetings

Kaylana04: Hi Mischief!!
I know that transatlantic flights can be costly. I’ve heard that flights through Dublin (of all places) can be a lot cheaper.

Once on this side of the Pond, flights can be as low as 25€! Totally unbelievable!
Errr... excuse me!! what do you mean by "of all places"??? Cheeky mare! lol....laugh laugh

It just seems so "northish"... I'm used to taking off for the jump over the Pond from France or Germany. I flew through London once too.

But seriously, the cost of airline flights just seem to be going down - if you catch them at the right time!
It's cheaper for me to fly to Berlin than to take a bus that arrives in about 24 hours time....

I've flown numerous places for under 100 euros. It's not that big of an expense as it once was when we were younger.... yay

I've just spent the past 3 weeks here in New Jersey. Only another 4 weeks to go. It was a shock to the system, going from 70F in Spain to between 25 and 45F here in NJ but I came well equipped this time. We had 5.5 inches of snow the other day and it was lovely to see. Took loads of photos down here in the woods.

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year . Feliz Navidad y Prospero Ano Nuevo.
I can't find my Spanish keyboard on this tablet lol....

Sorry, I don't currently have a passport. Thank you for the wonderful invitation. Maybe in the Summertime. When I visited my family in NYS for Thanksgiving, it snowed and was the coldest Thanksgiving on record.

Sorry no up to date passport here but, it would be interesting to see the area with a local person. Also as a dog owner and a cat lover they wouldn't be a problem to me.

Girl, I sure know what you’re talking about! I know you are a “Westerner”... the whole “Eastern” European title gets a little old... as if it’s a second rate place.

Geez! My family even thinks I live in a Third World country. doh
