If I think back on the past, I realise that in those days kids were not regarded as really worth listening to:
How do we treat kids today? Do we regard them as people with a voice, opinion, and will of their own? or are they just background noise, to be disregarded by most? Do we spend time with them, or do we hand them over to others to rear? How much quality time have you spent with your kids, doing what?

For as I am working with children: I treat them fair, but when they start making a mess I talk to them in a very serious way. Telling them I can't tolerate that behaviour.
And of course I give them my love, treating them like good friends.

What type of work do you do then?
I believe children must be treated with respect, as another human being, with thoughts, ideas, wishes and dreams. They are no different than anyone else. If you treat them like a person, they excel at everything they do, and those that are not very good, are given the incentive to do lots better!!!!

At last we agree on something.
I think you're absolutely right. Most young children react in a positive way when given the same respect you would give to adults. Over the years I've worked with many young people and have always found this to be the case.
