pKrema: The meaning of "worth it" here was in a sense of "suffer"...to make the end valuable no matter the longevity...or what has been before that...
yeah, life has a meaning, and we "drive" it. Just a point, when we have to choose between the known and unknown, we normally go with the known.

I suppose thats´where the "suffer" gets in most of the times. Is it?

The meaning of life is to live it...
Following a familiar road or taking the short cut through the bushes...it's still gonna take you somewhere...
The question is "Is it where you wanted to be?!"

Well, as long as all the news isw negative, wars everywhere, violence everywhere etc. it's not even worth to live over 100 years. And the world is overpopulated with people already, they should die around their 40th, like in the past.

I like the way you think... thumbs up that´s the question/answer, that most of us forget. Sometimes I do.

Bellanna: Would you like to live forever (in a young and healthy body)?

If someone comes and offers you that option right here and right now - would you accept it?

I think I would...
Yes. Partly for the money, I would use my eternal life to become the most powerful man on earth before trying to kill myself in boredom and despair. How immortal will I be? That’s the question.

Guilty myself...
We all do forget, we do want people and things we don't rally need...we want to be places we know we won't like... Do things we don't want to do...
Instead of give in and enjoy, we swim against the stream...to prove something...to someone...
Often the road with less resistance is the right one...

I dont buy the idea of "prove something...to someone" ; I believe we forget "what is subjective" and concentrate on the material side. Interesting that the concept applies to your thread too.

"Often the road with less resistance is the right one" - Maybe, I never tried that approach. Perhaps I need to start to choose some of those roads and become more "one of the bunch". Kinda of difficult at this stage, as I don't do things I don't want.

Getting back to your post, how long would you want to live? (objective)

Taking the road with less resistance doesn't mean blindly following the crowd...I do sense some kind of unnecessary pride when people say they will never do that...
May be they just achieved the same result with much more effort...don't you think it could be the case?!
I want to die when I am still able to enjoy life...not when I am hanging on, desperately...

laugh" never say never" - always present. Maybe for some life has a genie near by, but most of us, I see lots of "effort" to achieve something

The road of our life is define by what we choose, and act. For example, when I followed my dream I knew what one of the consequences could be "CS on a Sunday /pub by sea".

makes sense regarding "when" to die"...

We are fottunate in the West that we live our lives in relative comfort. If you could be transported back a century you may not be so keen on eternal life.

i would like to have a longer life mays be be several hundred years, to see what advances will be made in technology and unlocking the secrets of existence,

I have seen in my life time such advances in all fields of science,, it would bewonderful to see where it goes as advances seem to be increasing exponentially . I envy my grandsons.wine
