Mercedes_00: Maybe just maybe they have a Gofund thing on fb or maybe other countries are doing their own appeals for us.
I'm sitting out in the cool of the evening now after a 40C day, with hundreds of sqwauking corellas flying overhead, pelicans and other birds returning to their nighttime roost.
Theres been Noisy Miners, doves, magpies and kookaburras taking a sip out of the birdbath this afternoon
My heart is breaking for the thousands of animals that have perished during this dreadful time and that for those who survive, their habitat is destroyed

45C where I am..Send your cool here because it's smothering here still at 8:34pm..I had both huge air cons on at 16C and still moving around the house I was clammy they battled big time with this heatwave..Then on the news I heard people with air cons to turn them up because we're having an electricity crisis plus being asked not to use the washing machine..Very heart breaking for all these animals brings tears to my eyes.
EXRED: My thoughts are with everyone Merc serene just go. As yet in my country no official help with donations of any kind have come to the fore
Thank you so much for your thoughts and wishes Red
I know it's difficult to comprehend the scale of disasters like this when we are in another country and also to have empathy and compassion for those who are suffering but you have shown your support right from the get go.
It's truly terrifying and with no end in sight, words fail to express the extent of it
serene56: Today's news updates reported concerns around western Sydney Merc
Penrith became the hottest city in the world with temps over 47C
Are you ok where you are??
I moved to the South West to be closer to Wollongong beach..Many fires have broken out around me but I should be safe but the heavy smoke is playing havoc with my eyes & respiratory as it is with many people I speak with..On New Years eve I spoke to a couple who live here but have rental properties in QLD ..She's never had respiratory problems till all these bush fires in N.S.W so she's moving back to QLD..45C here today outside it felt like I was actually on fire for real as the humidity & smoke just takes it toll on ones body.
I just read US and Australia have a plan for that..
F.ederal E.mergency M.anagement A.gency = FEMA
Check on that..USA does some funding 1995- 2020
I reckon if another was in office we would have the Defence Force kind of help from your way..In saying that I certainly don't wish to discuss politics

people who have no business controlling fires are in charge of policy . Untill that changes the problem will repeat itself . Common sense needs to return .
