It seems that people enjoy to be scared. Horror films are very popular. All sorts of catastrophic predictions seem to get a lot of interest and publicity. People talk about viruses, global warming, all sorts of disasters imagining the worst possible outcomes. You can see that they enjoy it (although they pretend otherwise, as if they are simply worried)! People simply LOVE to get scared, to fantasize about the end of the world, aliens coming and eating us all, viruses killing 9/10 of the human race...

Why is that? What do you think?
Because FEAR is the strongest emotion which raises the adrenaline in our body and some people need it like a drug.
The media and the film industry plays on that.
And when people don't get it they go and take up skydiving and the like. They like danger!

I was never scared of horrormovies, mostly they're ridiculous in a hilarious way. Makes me laugh. But I think people who are scared gets more adrenaline through their body and they like that feeling. When I'm in a chesstournament and I'm playing for victory, my body is filled with adrenaline (and alcohol, lol). Love that feeling.
Throughout history was advantageous to assume the bear would kill you and that’s fundamentally the reason for the bond with other people. To help face scary things.
Quite the opposite ... in fact you're probably 'more alive' ( conscious and aware of your own pleasant life ) than the majority of people who (it appears) need somewhat 'brutal' sensations' to arouse them?
Being sensible of the SUBTLE energies is a rather more satisfying life than being addicted to the GROSS !
I enjoy a good psychological thriller with a good story line....not to be scared cause im not i just have always enjoyed shows like that...especially the ones based on true events....as for the rest of what you're talking about its always good to be aware of whats going on in the world....not to be afraid but also not to go through life blind to reality.....

Very strong emotions tire me down very quickly, so I suppose that my tolerance of various emotional states is pretty low.

I've recently watched an interesting TV show. You might like it. It's called "Sharp Objects".
