Shamanism is a religious practice that involves a practitioner, a shaman, who is believed to interact with a spirit world through altered states of consciousness, such as trance. The goal of this is usually to direct these spirits or spiritual energies into the physical world, for healing or some other purpose.

Pedro you really shouldn't share information about things you know so little about ...

Shamanism and "religious practice" sound very weird in the same sentence ...

Do you even know what a religion is?

That's right Sel.
I was trained as a shaman and energy healing from master shamans of the Andes.

I can assure you Pedro that there is no religion involved.
Shamans revere the elements and the sun and mother earth.

The conquistadors converted all south Americans to Catholicism against their will.
But Some of them managed to escape and about 50 years ago revealed their well kept secrets of their medicine techniques to some chosen ones.
That's when some well known anthropologists started to go to the Andes to learn their techniques and bring them to Europe.

So much for a world of science and reason leading to all men's happiness. It breaks my heart to hear you talk of these spirits who importance themselves by conning the people.

Interesting the only thing shamans mostly shared with me out west when I lived in California were mud baths and peyote.

Well...what they shared with me were their healing techniques during many workshops, by doing the medicine wheel, a course on energy healing and transpersonal psychology over a period of 3 to 4 years.
Also how to enter altered states of consciousness...without the use of any substance..for healing purposes.

galrads: ... mud baths and peyote.
Many people do sweat lodges and also use peyote, san pedro and ayahuaska.

I did one Ayahuasca session once and was as sick as a dog! barf
But...I had many revelations and received messages.

That was enough though!

Then I learned that I didn't need anything to achieve the same results and be enlightened.
