I've just found out that, by the end of January, we are presented with the option of.... either continue with WhatsApp, Or.....delete our account.
Now, if we dare to choose to continue, we have to agree with all the new terms, whereby ALL our information and contacts will be put in the same pot with FB.
This could be viewed as selling your soul to the devil! But, as there is no reward, it is in fact GIVING your soul!
Please discuss if you are in agreement with the new regime?
WhatsApp - which is owned by Facebook - just announced a **new policy that mandates WhatsApp's 2 billion users share their data with Facebook.** If WhatsApp users refuse to agree to this then they can no longer use WhatsApp.
This new policy is a **complete reversal** from Facebook's promise that WhatsApp data would remain "private and separate". **Mark Zuckerberg breaks yet another privacy promise - and we've all had enough of these betrayals.**
Remarkably, this isn't the first time that WhatsApp has violated its users' privacy. In 2017, **WhatsApp was fined $122 million by the European Union for sharing member data with Facebook.**
**WhatsApp co-founder Brian Acton has repeatedly encouraged everyone to #DeleteFacebook ?.** It's also time to #DeleteWhatsApp .
With so much happening everywhere - ** MeWe has a user Privacy Bill of Rights and a "poison pill" in our privacy policy to ensure your data and privacy are your absolute rights!**

Don't put your real information on facebook...then there is nothing for you to lose

Thanks for all the info. I had already read most of it, although it's a bit too technical for me all this.
My question is: do we delete it and look for another app? Which one?
Sweet Dani, I have a friend that told me years ago that whatever pictures you shared via WhatsApp, remained there forever... No matter if you had deleted them or not... I don't know how that works and how she found out... I personally don't think there is anything as a "safe" app...
I have tried "VIBER" and "LINE" and both were pretty good... And I downloaded "TELEGRAM" a few weeks ago, but used it only once... Again, I don't know anything about how "safe" any of them are...

Hola guapísima I know about the pics you share being there forever. I think they are all stored on Cloud. Everything you delete is saved...somewhere...?
I was thinking of Telegram after discussing it with a few friends. At the moment, I suppose they are safe enough but.. They'll probably end up like any other apps after a while.
You need to update them from time to time and...who knows what happens to all our texts and photos???
